Mode of Transport:Car
We took to road by our Hyundai Eon Sports version Car. Myself, my wife, son and Daughter-in-Law - the four of us on a Religious trip. Our plan was to cover Three important Holy Shrines en-route. On 23rd Jan'2016 by 8. 30 AM we started. Upto Villupuram the road was good and we could drive not only speedy but also comfortably. But from Villupuram to Kumbakonam via Panruti, Neyveli, and Vadalur the road is too bad and we could go only at a speed of 20 to 30 Kms. It was 3.30 when we reached Kumbakonam. We stayed in Hotel Le Garden - a Pleasant stay. We took Lunch there itself and took rest for a while. Around 6. 30 P.M we took off again to the first of our planned Holy Shrine- KARUVALARCHERI. This small village is around 17 Km. Away from Kumbakonam and the road is too narrow and completely dark. The Deity Karu Valartha Nayaki bestows her Grace on the Persons who have not begotten children after several years of married life with a Foetus. The thus grown Foetus is Nurtured, protected and safely delivered by the Grace of yet another Deity close by in a Village called Thirukarugavur. It's a small temple and we could complete the Pooja formalities with the help of the Archagars of the Temple. We reached back to Le Garden stayed for the night and started to Thirukarugavur next day morning by 9. 00 AM.

This Temple is 30 Km away from Kumbakonam and we have to travel through narrow roads in between paddy fields. It's indeed a very pleasant drive through difficult. This temple was highly crowded since it was a Sunday and there was the impending Maha Kumbabishekam on 26th Jan' 16. Here too we completed the Pooja formalities with the help of the Archers and Temple Assistants who are very helpful. There were innumerable number of middle aged couples who have assembled with a Total faith that they will become Mothers and Fathers.

We left Thirukarugavur by 12. 30 PM and reached back Le Garden Hotel. Again by 4.00 PM. We left for Thirunageswaram - a Raghu Sthalam for a special Parihar to be carried out between 4. 30 and 6. 00 PM on that Sunday - Raghu Kalam. The Temple was over crowded and we could get only Darshan and Prasad. We could not participate in the Abhishekam. We took off from Thirunageswaram to Rameshwaram via Mannargudi, Thiruvarur, Pattukottai and finally we joined the ECR bound for Rameshwar. It was almost 11. 30 PM when we reached Rameshwar. We had our Rooms booked in a Lodging House called Shri Saravana very nearer to the temple. Baring the closeness to the Temple this Lodging house was not all habitable. No Car Parking, A/C not working, no cup-boards in the room ill maintained electrical installations and lots of Mosquitoes to add to the struggle. Somehow we managed the night stay. We completed all the Theertha Baths starting from Agni Theertha thro' all the 22 Theertha wells inside the Temple including the Final KODI THEERTHAM. We could have the sweet Dharshan of Ramalinga Swamy and the Goddess Amman. We shifted to Hotel Royal Park which is on the High Way a little far from the temple but with all comforts by 2. 00 PM. A very good place to stay with ample car parking area an A/C Restaurant and fully Air-Conditioned Rooms. The Management is of Lifco Group and the people were too friendly and very helpful right from the Managing Staff down to the caterers. We took rest till 6. 00 P. M. Then we went to a place called KUNNATHUKAL BEACH which boards the Vivekananda memorial. Just 4 Km from Hotel Royal Park. This place is hardly known to people but a very serene place and has a long unpolluted beach. We remained there till 7. 00 P. M. Then we move to see Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's Memorial. The Memorial is still to come up. But at least the place is well secured and there are Police Personnel and a Volunteer who guides and helps people. The Holy Rameshwar has the pride of having given birth to such a Great Person. We went to a Hotel called Sabarish for our night Dinner and returned to Hotel Royal Park for Night Stay.

We had a very peaceful sleep with all comforts and went around Rameshwaram to Ramar Patham and left for Chennai by 9. 30 AM. AFTER breakfast. The return was very comfortable as we chose to take the NH 45 Route via Devakottai, Karaikudi, and Pudukottai. We broke our Journey at Trichy for Lunch at 2. 30 PM. And we went to Hotel Femina where we had a very good Lunch. Between 3.30 and 4.00 we left via GST Road and could reach Chennai just by 9. 00 PM. Overall, it was a very pleasant Trip and we could fulfill all our plans.

Mode of Transport:Train
Journey at beginning was just fine when I started from Egmore Chennai, when it came out of Chennai it was superb, environment outside was perfect with full of coconut fields.

Journey with train was perfect as its was not so crowded, every facility was there, even I ordered food online it was delivered to me at train at 8:30pm. Toilets and hygiene was good at training, even I was provided feedback for cleanliness at train. I reached Rameswaram on time. There was facility of accommodation by irctc at very reasonable price. Rameswaram was just 1. 3 km away from station we started to temple after one night rest at station rest room.

Mode of Transport:Taxi
We have started our journey with Sedan type taxi with 3 friends accompanying me. We travelled through GST Road with all excitement with us. We crossed Ramnad, Devakottai and all. In Devakottai we can see Chettiar Houses they are good proof to our ancient architecture. After that when we reached Pappan Pallam, there will be more excited to see a sea on both sides in middle of the bridge & also the crossing of Train in that bridge. In all over india this is the only bridge which has roadway bridge higher than the railway bridge. What a creativity and architecture we amazed with it.

There are more small islands & Theerthan to visit there but due to time concern we visited few places only Like,
1. Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Samathi
2. Vivekananda Mandapam
3. Ariyaman Beach
4. Rameshwaram Temple etc.

We will advise travellers to spend at least 3-5 days to halt on this place to view all the attraction.

Mode of Transport:Bus
Ride on Pamban Bridge was an enjoyable moment. We departed from Chennai at 9 pm and reached Rameswaram at 8 am. The climate was hot but we enjoyed the new welcoming atmosphere. Buses were not allowed inside the city. So we had to take an auto to the hotel. For security reasons no vehicles were permitted to go near the temple and so we had to walk 10 metres to MCM Towers which was very close to the temple. We returned to Chennai by Sethu Express.

Mode of Transport:Bus
I just traveled in SRS travels, the quality of bus and timings are very superb and the facility of bus also good. The only main draw back was there is no charger support in the bus. In 12hours of journey we have to make our mobile safety by with out making charge get reduce.
