To reach Auli, you have to reach Haridwar, From ther u can either hire share or can hv pvt taxi to reach Joshimath... Form Joshimath by car or rope way. Be careful As the destination is in top of mountain, local transport is very expensive.. if possible do carry enough money.

Drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath. The drive is about 10-12 hrs depending on the class of vehicle and the roads. From Joshimath there are two alternatives to reach Auli. 1. By road takes about 1.5-2.0 hrs and is about 14 kms, which is quite treachorous. After the winter games probably would have improved. 2. Take the longest ropeway in the world from Joshimath to Auli.

From Haridwar about 280 km, hilly terrain and breathtaking Ghats through out the journey; be prepared for landslides with adequate food and water in case you get stuck up. Although help is easily available, keep emergency phone no’s handy.
