since you don't find highfi hotels, it is better to carry own mosquito reppelents. If you are not from Karnataka state better carry money with you, suddenly you may find, sbi atm out of service. Enjoy the journey through forest, at the same time it is announced as naxal and maoist area, but did not find anything unusual. it is 97 km from Dharmasthala, 125 km from koluuru, 98 km from udupi.

The road from Horanadu to Sringeri,(about 80 KM) is a mountainous and bumpy stretch with certain stretches very badly affected by monsoon and not repaired. It can also be reached from Udupi. Better to travel during daytime.

We traveled by car from Udipi via Agumbe Betta. One the way enjoy Ghat section natural beauty. Some portion of the road in ghat section is not good as such one should drive slow and carefully.
