The distance between Shirdi and New Delhi, is 1246 km and it takes almost 20 hours to reach New Delhi. The best way to reach New Delhi from Shirdi, is by train. I was having an AC sleeper seat. The train started on time and the train was fine. However, the train arrived the station a bit late. The facilities provided in the train was normal. The train was filled and none of the seats was lying vacant. If you are boarding this train, I would suggest to carry own food as train food was pathetic and must enjoy the sight seeing as it's beautiful.

The overall experience with the airlines was good. The flight got delayed by 1 hour but the overall journey was good. The cabin crew hospitality was remarkable. The cost of ticket in this airlines was affordable and comparatively less than the remaining ones. The food was also good and at a reasonable price.

I took an Air India flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport from New Delhi to Aurangabad. I took a taxi from Airport to Shirdi and stayed at a nearby hotel. Next day early morning I went to the temple and had the darshan. It took more than three hours to reach Shirdi by road from the airport as the road are not that great.

For food and other services, Air India is the best as they provide one of the best Indian food at lunch as well as in dinner. At the International Airport the check-in and boarding was hassle-free.

Although the journey was OK but train got late by 3 hrs as it was end of Dec and fog had affected the train thus instead of reaching Shirdi By 4:30 pm we reached at 9:00 pm and our program for that evening got cancelled. We stopped at the station for having refreshments meanwhile most of the shared taxis departed from the station and we had to wait for one hour in the shared taxi for other passengers

We booked our train journey tickets well in advance; some 90 days prior. We boarded the train to Nasik from Nizamuddin Railway Station at 9.20 in the morning. Ours was a two tier AC ticket. The journey was smooth and fun for my children. Whenever the train stopped at stations or halted in between, my children got down and take their amateur snaps.rnrnSeats and the bedsheets provided to us were nice and clean. Service was also good in the train. We reached Nasik the next day morning at 6 am. It was raining in Nasik. We hired a taxi (Maruti Van) and headed towards Triambakeshwar Temple straight away. After getting "Pooja" done and the "Darshan" at Triambak, we headed towards Shirdi.
