We went from Pondicherry to Mahabalipuram via Bus. There are buses operated by Tamil Nadu govt plying to Chennai. Take the bus which goes through East Coast road. We hired a taxi to drop at Chennai station to catch shatabdi to Bangalore. So two ways to visit the Coastal Couple from Delhi 1. Delhi - Bangalore(Only when You want to visit Bangalore or have friend working there whom you wanna meet) - Take Luxury bus to Pondicherry - hire taxi or Govt bus to Mahabalipuram (will take 2 Hrs approx) - Chennai (2 hours again) - Train or Bus to Bangalore - and WAPAS Delhi 2. Delhi - Chennai - Pondicherry - Mahabalipuram (any of the two can be visited first since Mahabalipuram falls between Chennai and Pondy) – Wapas- Chennai and then Delhi

Buses are available from Chennai & other parts of the state. Conducted tours are provided by Dept. of Tourism, Tamilnadu. Local tour operators also can provide a day tour with luxury private cars to visit all the places. Train services are also available, keep collect some prior information before planning your journey through Train.
