The town is well connected by rail and road. The nearby Tuticorin Airport 40 kilometers from Tuticorin, 55 km from Tirunelveli, and 171 kilometers from Madurai. The town is connected to Tirunelveli by a broad-gauge train track, with a train station at Thiruchendur. An express train runs daily between Chennai Egmore station to Tiruchendur and it is called as Chendur Express running via villuppuram, cuddallore,chidambaram, kumbakonam, tanjavore, tiruchy,madurai. Tirunelveli. Passenger train services are also available between Tirunelveli and Tiruchendur 3 times daily. A seaport is located at Tuticorin, 40 km away.

There will be much shops and more roadside shops where they cheat people by selling cheap things for a very high rate beware of that and the hotels over there are also doing the same according to me,hotel sivamurugan is the best of all....

i started from near trichy. i went by car. i took NH 45 and NH 45B. that's the straight road to tuticorin. from trichy to thiruchendur it took 4 and half an hour to reach before 35 km from thiruchendur, national highways ended and you 've to go on the state highways which is comparatively not good. from trichy there's also train and bus facility available. thiruchendur is very near to tuticorin. so you can plan for 2 days and 2 night trip.one day in thiruchendur and one day in tuticorin by watching the sunrice and amman temple etc. thank you
