I had a very good and thrilling experience driving for the first time in hills. We were very excited about the drive, since we felt the weather changing as and when we were driving up the hills. The advantage of driving your own car or a rented one, you can drive inside the Berijam Forest, it will be a very good driving experience and excellent place to visit.

One thing I learned is not to use your brakes often when driving down the hill, instead use your clutch (for first timers to hills). Since we had an issue at one point were the break shoes were overheated and it was pumping only air. We stopped at a place for some time and then we were good to go.

It was a planned visit for a 3 days vacation with my wife. We did a perfect check-in at 12 pm and the room was given around 12:30 pm. Although, we were given a good welcome, they missed out the welcome drink for us since, I guess they were very busy with the rush during that weekend. The room...more »

The best part of travel is the hill road which comprises of many bends and sloppy roads. The Silver Cascade Falls on the way to Kodaikanal in the hill road is a place to stop at and spend some time. The travel in bike would be amazing than travelling in bus or car.

Overall, a great ride.

Travel is so good. It was very peaceful and safe. The bus reached on time. It has no AC, it has a good seating facilities. Totally the journey was good and peaceful. Beautiful destination for nature lovers, less population in comparison to Ooty. The best time to visit is from Oct to Feb. Lake is a must see place. Basic south Indian food available and much more.

Trip was sudden as such, could not plan in advance. Travelled by hopping into three different buses 1) from Tiruchirapalli to Dindigul 2) Dindigul to Vathalagundu 3) Vathalagundu to Kodaikanal. Journey by bus by road was tedious due to hot weather particularly till Vathalagundu and it was nice, enjoyable from thereon till Kodaikanal. Out of 52 kilometres distance from Vathalagundu to Kodaikanal 40 km are on the hilly road and journey was quite enjoyable as the weather was cool and it had beautiful trees, greeneries and sceneries. Driving by one's own car leisurely will be very pleasurable and enjoyable.

Really have wonderful moments which we enjoyed. All hilarious moments, nature beauty at its best, dangerous roads are at their best too, creature attacks, in all just feeling WOWWWW !!!!!
Always, if nature lover do not go to regular spots, try to find out new in the roads itself.

Awesome sightseeing places from the Kodai Road, Kodai to Pillar Rock, and then Down Hills towards Batalakundu.

Food is good, ATM facility is there, search for cottages littler deeper to get better deals ( prefer to book in advance). Enjoy the beauty instead of wasting time in shopping and other stuffs.

Have a nice journey and pleasant stay :-)
