A little further down the Gumbaz takes you to the banks of the main Cauvery. Dip your feet into the water, or take a Coracle boat ride across the river. A listing of the key attractions along with a route map is prominently displayed at all the sites. This is primarily a place for leisurely site seeing - people wanting a lot of action should stay away! Srirangapatna is located about 15 kilometers north east of Mysore

Plenty of buses from Mysore, most Mysore bound KSRTC non-stops from Bangalore entertain a request stop at Srirangapatna, a very few trains stop at the Srirangapatna rail station. Autos are available in the rail station to take you around, but bargain beforehand.
