We went to Belgaum by an over night bus from Mumbai. The distance between Mumbai to Belgaum is arnd 500 kms which is covered in 7 hrs by Volvo and arnd 12-13 hrs by ordinary buses. There are many options available from Mumbai to Belgaum. This includes Volvo buses from VRL, KSRTC etc (fare arnd 650- 750). Non AC regular buses from VRL, Munjawar, NWKRTC, MSRTC etc (fare arnd 350- 400). From Belgaum, Amboli is arnd 68 kms which is covered in 2 hrs. You can catch either NWKRTC buses or MSRTC buses at the main bus stop heading towards Sawantwadi. There are frequent buses from morning till evening connecting to Amboli. Fare is arnd Rs 45/-. Other distances form Amboi are as below: Amboli – Mumbai – 538kms Amboli – Kolhapur – 118kms Amboli – Pune – 395kms Amboli – Sawantwadi – 32kms Amboli – Goa (Dabolim Airpot) – 135kms Best time to visit is Monsoons and after monsoon. Please make sure to make advance reservations if going on a weekend.

Nearest cities are Sawantwadi, Kolhapur, Belgao. Exiting travel from Sawantwadi via Amboli Ghat... (You required high skilled driving).... Public transport is about every hr from Sawantwadi (ST buses) Some time heavy mansoon leads to land slidding in ghat, this can stopped you to travel to your most amazing destinationn .. AMBOLI.
