Route from Chandigarh: From Chandigarh, Manali is at a distance of 300 kms and it could take anywhere between 6 to 8 hours to reach Manali. The route from Chandigarh to Manali goes through NH-21, from Ropar, Bilaspur and Mandi. There is another route called as NH-21A, which goes via Nalagarh, Swarghat and Bilaspur. This route should be avoided because of bad road conditions.
