About Hussain sagar Lake
Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the popular landmarks and important tourist destinations in the city of Hyderabad. Hussain Sagar Lake, situated about 2 km from the heart of the city of Hyderabad, connects Secunderabad to Hyderabad.
Hussain Sagar Lake of Hyderabad is the largest artificial lake in Asia. This lake was excavated during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah by Hussain Shah Wali in 1562 AD. Hussain Sagar Lake, built on the tributary of the River Musi, had been of significance in the early days since it connected the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Hussain Sagar Lake has become a major recreational as well as picnic spot. The lake is bordered by Indira Park in the east, Sanjeevaiah Park in the north and Lumbini Park in the south.
Towards the middle of the lake, there is a huge monolithic statue of Lord Buddha in white granite standing on the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’. This statue of Buddha is about 16 meters high and weighs about 350 tonnes.
Hussain Sagar Lake has become a prominent centre for water sports. Boating facilities like speed boats, motor boats, etc. are provided at this lake. A 48-seater launch is another added attraction of this lake, on which dinner and private parties can be arranged.
The state tourism board of Andhra Pradesh organises water sports competition at Hussain Sagar Lake which range from boating and cruising to water-skiing and para sailing.

The Hussain Sagar Lake Is One Of Hyderabad's Most Popular Tourist Attraction. It Is Crowned As India's Largest Artificial Lake. It Is Believed That Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah Built This Lake In The Year 1563. What Adds To The Awesomeness Of This Scenic Lake Is The Monolith Of Lord Buddha, Standing Gigantically Tall In The Heart Of The Lake. This Lake Is Also Responsible To Connect The Twin Cities Of Hyderabad & Secunderabad!

"A nice garden and boating trip."

The lake is big and worth spending an evening in the garden with boat club. There is choice of boats that take you to the Buddha statue island inside the lake. Speed boats do not allow to alight at the island but other boats give you approx. 10 to 15 minutes, enough for going around and clicking pictures. The boat ride is a nice experience and the best time is just half an hour before sunset. The boat ride costs Rs 55 per person.

Hussain Sagar is a huge man made lake connecting the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad with the Necklace Road surrounding it.
Driving around the Necklace Road was an amazing experience. Great place for an early morning stroll when the weather is cool.
There is a big Buddha statue right in the middle of the Lake. You can hire a boat and ride up to the statue.

Lake is very clean and very serene to watch. Lumbini Laser show starts at 7. 15pm and is a treat to people of all ages.
We can go boating in the lake and can visit the giant Buddha statue in the middle of the lake via speedboats. And not to forget the Giant Indian Flag to make you feel patriotic.
The place is well lighted up and has proper food supplies. Also there is fun zone for children's with fun rides.
The place glows after the sunset with lights as if the necklace around the lake.
A must go place
