The ISKCON Temple in Coimbatore is a well known pilgrimage centre located in the heart of the city. The ISKCON temple aims at spreading the science of Krishna consciousness with the help of Bhagavad Gita.
Spread across an area of 20,000 sq ft, the temple has an array of beautiful deities belonging to Sri Radha Krishna, Sri Jagannath, Sri Baladev, Subhadra Devi and Sri Prabhupada.
Built in typical Tamil architecture, other than the separate sanctums present for the different deities, the temple complex has a gallery showcasing the different founders of ISKON movement. Gift shops in the temple complex are the right places to purchase spiritual souvenirs for your loved ones.
Though open on all days of the year, the best time to visit the ISKCON temple is during the festivals of Gaura Purnima, Rama Navami, Narasimha Chaturdashi, Varaha Dvadashi, and Sri Krishna Janmashtami which are celebrated in a lively and colorful manner with a lot of music and dance.
This tranquil temple is strategically placed close to the city, at a mere 7 km, and autos and buses are easily available. One can pay a visit to the Codissia Trade fair complex which is another attraction situated nearby.

A replica of similar ISKCON temples in other cities, though at miniature level. However, it is not a place of destination, which you may avoid, as you are not going to miss anything, if you skip visiting the place. However if you travelling to CODISSIA, you can visit the temple as it is located near to the location.More » « Less
