We had a deep desire in our heart of visiting Jaipur - The Pink City, which had painted a colourful painting in our mind and the right time came on *8th January 2014 till 13th January 2014. It was pretty cold the day we stepped into the Pink city, as we were visiting Jaipur for the first time and were very happy to had booked Jaipur Darbar Hotel, as the name itself signified the typical architecture and style we were to be accommodated into . . We were warmly greeted at the reception early in the morning, and had to wait for sometime after the formalities, as the check-in time was due yet. We were guided inside by the manager revealing this beautiful premises right behind the reception lobby, opening into a courtyard and giving a lovely view of the hotel rooms in store for us. The room on the first floor was cosy and warm, giving us the true warm homely feeling, as we had seen the photos before booking. The bed was comfortable and the razai / blankets were clean and warm. We were satisfied with the housekeeping, as we are very particular about having clean beds and toilets We freshened up and went down for Breakfast which was quickly served in a big banquet hall, giving us a true picture of being in a big Darbar !! Breakfast was served with mouth watering hot Parathas and curd. The staff here was extremely courteous. The breathtaking Jail quarter standing tall right in the middle of the lake surrounded by water was just walking distance from the hotel and we strolled around the area for couple of hours and came back for lunch. As Lunch was served in the restaurant dining hall, we had a good taste of typical Rajasthani cuisine at a very reasonable rate . There were a few small restaurants adjacent serving South Indian dishes too We were helped by the travel desk counter in arranging site visits to Amer Fort, Pushkar lake ( The only temple of lord Bramha and Khwaja Garib Nawaz at Ajmer. The rates for entire day sightseeing by car was very reasonable Major attraction while in Jaipur was the Hawa quarter, and the Palace right adjacent, also the Jantar Mantar was worth visiting, as it was the only astronomical scaled laboratory of its kind, which gives you the detailed knowledge of your zodiac signs and its place in the solar system. The Sun dial /clock was Truly Magnificent. All this can be visited in the entire day on your own by taking an auto rickshaw from the hotel, without spending more on a rental car I would definitely like to revisit the Jaipur Darbar Hotel. A truly memorable experience !!.
The Jaipur Darbar experience is one to soothe frazzled nerves. Good spacious rooms with very comfortable mattresses and pristine white sheets. Clean bathroom with crisp towels. After a drive from Delhi -always full of harassing close shaves due to terrible driving by all ( it is wonderfully relaxing to come to the hotel and unwind The food is like home cooked and made on order. The chef, a Bengali whose name I forget, is most kind and goes out of his way to prepare dishes to individual likes. The folks musicians accompanying dinner are not loud - such a malady nowadays The after dinner coffee on the lawns with the soft autumn breezes was especially enchanting If possible, make an opportunity to get engaged in a conversation with either the owner's wife or daughter in law. Epitome of good learning and the old mom in law is one of the legends in education of the girl child in Jaipur. The daughter in-law is not only a stunning beauty but one who has marvellous brains - she teaches communication So what more can one want - good food, terrific ambience, and most of soul, stimulation for the intellect ?. It is one of my favourites anywhere in the world (and let me share that I am quite a world traveller! ).
The staff welcomed us warmly. I loved the beautiful interior decoration of the hotel. Our room was very spacious with a beautiful bed and a perfect combination of furniture and sheets. The bathroom was very clean too. The room service was very prompt and quick and brought our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was absolutely delicious. The swimming pool was really good. I would definitely go back there the next time I am in this city.
Outside and inside look of the hotel was good. I had no issue about their hospitality. Booking and front office services were prefect. I had my food inside the hotel and quality and taste wise, the food was very nice but price wise, the food was bit costly. Both varieties were available there veg and non-veg. I liked the Chicken dishes very much there. My experience there was very nice. The best of the hotel is that location and garden area. Location wise, the hotel was conveniently located. I was able to reach the hotel comfortably. Surrounding of the hotel was fine. I did not use any activity over there. Room was very spacious but no view was visible from my room. Bed sheet, blanket, washroom and other furnishing were in clean condition and in fact they were taken care of on a daily basis by the room staff. TV, geyser, and other necessity items were available there and they all were functioning properly. Money spend there was worth.
The hotel Darbar was an amazing experience for our stay at Jaipur. We in a group of 5 friends went to the hotel after we visited Taj quarter in Agra. Jaipur I must say is a very good place to be in for your holiday trip and Hotel Darbar added that Jaipur flavour to our visit. Starting with the reception to our room and hospitality. I specially liked the food of the hotel, it was just wow. I specially was surprised with the waiters suggestion to take only 3 plates of food for 5 people and that would be enough and I was surprised that it was actually more than enough for us. I would love to visit the place and stay in the same hotel again if I would ever get time to visit Jaipur. I thank the hotel much for such wonderful welcome.
