Jaipur food, sight-seeing and shopping options
The City Palace has a sub-set palace called the Sheesh Mahal. Now, one would think that the city would be delighted to throw open the doors of Sheesh Mahal to visitors – after all, how many cities in India have a palace (Mahal) made of glass (Sheesh)? But alas and alack, I realized I was the naďve one. Sheesh Mahal has an entry fee of Rs.2,500 per person!!!! Yes, you read it right, Rs.2,500 per person. I fairly fainted (and not just because of the heat) when I reached the entry to this exalted palace. And yes, you guessed it right – we turned back. No palace is worth Rs.2,500 per person. I’d rather go to a nearby hill station for a weekend holiday in that much money. So, that was that.
There is another attraction that Jaipur boasts of called Hawa Mahal. It is a palace that was made for the royal ladies of Jaipur. In the days of the purdah, when they were forbidden from showing their faces to the outside world of men, they congregated in this Hawa Mahal to watch processions that took place on the streets below them. The palace was under construction and coupled with the scorching heat which made sightseeing a pain, I didn’t quite enjoy the Hawa Mahal. There are other tourist attractions too in the city which any of the rickshaw drivers or tourist cabs, whom you can hire for the day, will take you to. There is also a prepaid city tour that you can take from Hotel Gayatri (I think). Do visit the new part of Jaipur which has lovely bungalows and a peaceful air above it.
There are n number of hotels to cater to all pockets in Jaipur, so you can take your pick.

Comments: hi i surprised my husband for his b'day there, and it was mind blowing experience, had a lovely time,we stayed in suit room called jaipur suite,it was a lovely one had 3 rooms inside, hotel is very nice in very much affordable!! must stay!food was just awsome, hotel has all activities in side almost n specially at even some cultural show with palmist mehandi n bangles wala a typical viallge they create!so if u r laone also u never get bore! n not a suit room we liked all rooms they r recently renovated !
Best Experience: best part was Italian restaurant Giordano at the pool side , i always thought except mumbai no 1 offers mouth watering Italian food but this hotel proved me wrong, it was such a cozy candle night with soft music ,another restaurant is traditional one with excellent interior what a color combination name is cinamon its just worth sitting there and have a lovely dinner, all the people over there were so helping specially mr vishwajeet main reservation officer n ankita at front desk, they helped in the best possible way!
Worst Experience: except they need to renovate suit rooms bath room nothing was disappointing!

Hotel Review of Jai Mahal Palace
It was a surprise and it turned out to be a great one. The most amazing part of the experience was the first rain of the season in the desert. Unconnected as it may seem with the resort, the green of the lawns and the red of the bricks was at its best. Jai Mahal lawns are awesome and if one doesn't spend at least a part of the evening here, the stay is a waste. As refreshing the lawns,...

Hotel Review of Jai Mahal Palace
You pay such a high price in the name of heritage and get what ? A very small congusted simple room which is not built by any maharaja for his taste. Rooms are shady and one shall simply feel staying back in a hostel but not in "Jai Mahal Palace". Hospitality ! you have to buy that at hefty price.......
