It was a good experience in Jaldapara Wild Hut when I visited last November. The Hotel was very closed to Jaldapara Forest. Location was very good. It was good very experience for our family. Food was relatively OK. Hotel security is good. If I again go to Jaldapara I will definitely stay at Wild Hut, Jaldapara.

The hotel is conveniently located in city and its appearance is quite good. The staff members were helpful and good in service. The room provided was neat and clean with all the needful amenities working properly but geyser was not good. The food served in the hotel was good in both veg and non-veg dishes. There was no delay in check-in or check-out procedure. I had been here with my family in the month of January for sightseeing which was pre-planned by us. I did not notice any activity at the hotel and our stay was quite good and money spent was reasonable.

The hotel was convenient to locate but it was little far from the main city. The appearance of the hotel was good and interiors are also quite good. The staff members in the hotel were helpful and good enough in services. The food served in the hotel was good in quality and taste, and I preferred only veg food. The room allotted to us was spacious and cleanly maintained with all the needful amenities in good condition. There was safari facility available which was organised by the hotel management. The hotel management did not make any delay during check-in or check-out procedure. Overall, it was a very good experience here and money spent was definitely worth it.

It was time to go to the jungles, so, this time we chose Dooars. Our first stop was Jaldapara. We first stayed at the Jaldapara Guest House. They have a lot of lodging options from cottages to various other kinds of rooms. The rooms are quite clean and spacious. The quality of food is very good with a lot of variety to pick from. The service is good, too. You can take car safari or an elephant ride to Jaldapara National Park, which is quite nearby.

If anybody wants to visit Jaldapara wildlife sanctuary then they must stay in WBTDC holiday resort. The Hollong tourist lodge should be the first choice as it's located inside the forest but if you don't get a chance then obviously select Jaldapara Tourist Lodge which is located just at the entry point of the main forest.

It's nearest railway station is Madarihat but all express trains don't have stoppage there so, you have to reach via road from Hasimara Jn. A local cab will charge 400 rupees to board you the tourist lodge from the station.

The room rates are moderate but not very cheap but the room quality is very good. All the bookings for local sightseeing, jungle safari can be done from the lodge reception and every destination has a fixed rate(no bargain).

The hotel has a busy canteen with good quality of food which are available with pre-orders. The breakfast and morning tea is included in the tariff package. A light and sound show is arranged by the lodge in evening but not sure about its schedule.

The jungle people are helpful. They will not cheat you. But the animals may cheat you if you don't have luck with you. Try to opt for jungle safari in the afternoon as said by the forest guides because the chances of seeing animals is high before the sunset. You can visit Phuntsholing, Bhutan as its not far away from Jaldapara.

I visited Jaldapara as a part of my wandering spree in North Bengal. I had already covered Gorumara and was on way to Jayanti after Jaldapara.

I was trying to get the Hollong reservation and settled down on this one since it was totally full. The place is very easily walkable from Madarihat railway station about 15 minutes comfortable walk. The first glance of the lodge beyond the wooden bridge gives you a taste of the wooden wild life world.

The front desk is very professional and friendly and they guided me immediately to my reserved room. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and airy. The ambiance of the lodge is that of old time wooden jungle lodges and I loved the warmth of the corridor. The rooms start at 1500, 2000, 2200, etc. If you are a single traveller like me they give you a 25% discount. All booking to be done online on WBTDC site.

On arrival, after check-in they advice you to book the elephant safari for the first trip in the morning. They have just 2 elephant trips at 5.30 am and 6.30 am from Hollong. They drop you to Hollong and take some basic charges for the vehicle and guide fees.

The restaurant also has a bar so you can have your drinks at the place. I being a veg didn't enjoy the Bengali veg meals served here. They were too bland and tasteless. Although the Punjabi food was edible. I guess the non-veg might be a better bet. There are no great eateries or restaurants near the place so if you care about hygienic food you would have to end up eating at this place only. Meals are reasonably priced and the breakfast is complimentary.

They also have a dormitory that they give out for big families, these can't be booked online. Otherwise, they occupy drivers.

There are no add on amenities like pool. The cottages are separate from the main wing and seem like a quaint place to be. You would need to carry all your own toiletries. None are supplied here.

All said and done, it's a good lodge, very comfortable and serene.

I stayed at the hotel for one day only, the room was fantastic and luxurious. The service they provide was pretty good but not like the cost they take. Now the food, the food was average. Overall, a good luxurious experience there. I like the atmosphere of veranda and I will definitely go there if they improve the food.

I went to Jaldapara in the last year, November with my family and stayed at Jaldapara Tourist Lodge. It is situated within the forest. The environment was calm quite. We have stayed at cottage; from the cottage balcony we got the total view of entire tourist lodge. The bathroom was neat and clean with modern amenities and 24 hours hot water (geyser available). The room service was satisfactory. The restaurant service and quality of food was appreciable. Apart from family restaurant a separate bar is present at the lodge. Tea and evening snacks are available at room, the room was spacious and easily manageable for four persons, in that case extra bed charges will be applied. Looking for good location with budget plan at JaldaparaŁ then Jaldapara Tourist Lodge is the indispensable choice. The overall experience was so nice and so thrilling at Jaldapara Tourist Lodge. Local people are very simple and honest.

I reached the hotel easily. Location was fine. Hotel was located at about 3 hours distance to the airport. Behaviour of the staff member was friendly. Food facility was available and it was tasty. Veg and non-veg all varieties were available. Rooms were neat and clean. Garden view was available from the room window. I booked my room through travel agency. Booking and front office was very nice. Nothing was available in activities. It was a relaxed holiday with my family in January month. Hotel arranged cab facility for sightseeing. Hotel was value for money and recommendable for travellers.
