I visited Jaldapara as a part of my wandering spree in North Bengal. I had already covered Gorumara and was on way to Jayanti after Jaldapara.

I was trying to get the Hollong reservation and settled down on this one since it was totally full. The place is very easily walkable from Madarihat railway station about 15 minutes comfortable walk. The first glance of the lodge beyond the wooden bridge gives you a taste of the wooden wild life world.

The front desk is very professional and friendly and they guided me immediately to my reserved room. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and airy. The ambiance of the lodge is that of old time wooden jungle lodges and I loved the warmth of the corridor. The rooms start at 1500, 2000, 2200, etc. If you are a single traveller like me they give you a 25% discount. All booking to be done online on WBTDC site.

On arrival, after check-in they advice you to book the elephant safari for the first trip in the morning. They have just 2 elephant trips at 5.30 am and 6.30 am from Hollong. They drop you to Hollong and take some basic charges for the vehicle and guide fees.

The restaurant also has a bar so you can have your drinks at the place. I being a veg didn't enjoy the Bengali veg meals served here. They were too bland and tasteless. Although the Punjabi food was edible. I guess the non-veg might be a better bet. There are no great eateries or restaurants near the place so if you care about hygienic food you would have to end up eating at this place only. Meals are reasonably priced and the breakfast is complimentary.

They also have a dormitory that they give out for big families, these can't be booked online. Otherwise, they occupy drivers.

There are no add on amenities like pool. The cottages are separate from the main wing and seem like a quaint place to be. You would need to carry all your own toiletries. None are supplied here.

All said and done, it's a good lodge, very comfortable and serene.

I stayed at the hotel for one day only, the room was fantastic and luxurious. The service they provide was pretty good but not like the cost they take. Now the food, the food was average. Overall, a good luxurious experience there. I like the atmosphere of veranda and I will definitely go there if they improve the food.

I went to Jaldapara in the last year, November with my family and stayed at Jaldapara Tourist Lodge. It is situated within the forest. The environment was calm quite. We have stayed at cottage; from the cottage balcony we got the total view of entire tourist lodge. The bathroom was neat and clean with modern amenities and 24 hours hot water (geyser available). The room service was satisfactory. The restaurant service and quality of food was appreciable. Apart from family restaurant a separate bar is present at the lodge. Tea and evening snacks are available at room, the room was spacious and easily manageable for four persons, in that case extra bed charges will be applied. Looking for good location with budget plan at JaldaparaŁ then Jaldapara Tourist Lodge is the indispensable choice. The overall experience was so nice and so thrilling at Jaldapara Tourist Lodge. Local people are very simple and honest.

I reached the hotel easily. Location was fine. Hotel was located at about 3 hours distance to the airport. Behaviour of the staff member was friendly. Food facility was available and it was tasty. Veg and non-veg all varieties were available. Rooms were neat and clean. Garden view was available from the room window. I booked my room through travel agency. Booking and front office was very nice. Nothing was available in activities. It was a relaxed holiday with my family in January month. Hotel arranged cab facility for sightseeing. Hotel was value for money and recommendable for travellers.

The arrangement in this hotel was very good. The food facility was also very good. The accommodation was excellent. I stayed here for 2 days in an AC room, though non AC room was not available without any charge. The dining place was very good. There was no problem in booking and at check-in and check-out. Service was very good. The rooms were neat and clean. The food was very good and tasty; whatever ordered was served.

Last month visited Jaldapara during summer holidays. It was a great experience to stay in the Jaldapara Tourist Lodge which made our vacation more remarkable. It was a 6-day stay and we loved the fooding and lodging facilities available there. The view from the hotel was too good and the environment, and surroundings were excellent. We were recommended by a friend and are thankful to have got into that place. Would love to visit again.

The hotel is located conveniently and I did not find any difficulty in reaching. The staff members in the hotel are helpful and cooperative in service. The room allotted was spacious and maintained neatly with amenities like TV, AC and geyser in working condition and a forest view was available. The food provided by the hotel was simple it was not good in quality and taste. There was no delay while check-in or check-out procedure. I did not observe any activity at the hotel or sightseeing trip for visitors. As per money the hotel was worth it and I would recommend this hotel to others.
