Jelep La Pass is one of the highest mountain passes connecting India with Tibet in the East Sikkim District. Just below the Jelep La Pass, there is a popular Menmecho Lake, which can be visited from the main route to the pass. The word Jelep La means 'The lovely level pass' and lies on the main route connecting Lhasa with Sikkim.
It measures 46 m in length and is easily accessible from two routes from Gangtok and Kalimpong. The entire route of the pass is full of deep forests of rhododendron trees, leading to the Chumbi Valley of Tibet.
