Juhu Beach Overview

Ranked 14 of 770 sightseeing in Mumbai

Juhu Beach, situated in the suburbs of Mumbai, is one of the largest and most popular beaches in Mumbai. It is 6 km long and is ringed by Arabian Sea on the west. To the north of this beach is Gandhi Gram, where Mahatma Gandhi lived in his days as a lawyer. The southern end of the beach is marked by a number of luxury hotels.

The beach is most famous for its street-side food like Pani Puri, Sev Puri, Pav Bhaji and more. Moreover, tourists can buy tee shirts, balloons, ice creams and numerous other things from the many stalls at the beach. In the evenings, the beach is crowded by people intending to see the beautiful sun, setting at the horizon of Arabian Sea.

Tourists generally pass their time at the beach by watching air planes taking off and landing in the nearby Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Often, tourists can catch glimpses of shooting of a Bollywood movie as well at Juhu Beach. Swimming should be avoided at the beach, but a peaceful sunbath is an ideal option.

Nearest train stations to the beach are Santa Cruz, Andheri and Vile Parle.

Juhu beach

It is one of the popular tourist attraction in Mumbai and also very untidy and dirty beach i have seen. I like this beach because of its peaceful atmosphere and its scenic beauty. Its a good beach to enjoy and relax and to watch a sunset. There are many food stalls and snack joints set up at the beach. The only thing i do not like is garbage thrown on this beach.

New experience for first timers

Can be a new experience for first timers beach visitors but definitely not for the ones who had been to other beaches (esp ones in Goa etc). Still the famous street food (Juhu chowpati) makes up for it for food junkies and can be a good outing on a breezy and cloudy day ! PS: weekdays being the best days to visit as least crowd is expected !

Overcrowded beach

All beaches in Mumbai are overcrowded and little dirty but still in Mumbai even that ia respite from crowd. You can sit, have snacks tea coffee near the sea.

Nice place

It is a major tourist attraction of Mumbai. On weekends its too crowdy, so avoid it. Too much of eating option is available here like Kala khatta, pav bhaji and many more mouth watering food. We had a lot of fun in water but it is little bit dirty. Looking a view of setting and rising sun is marvelous.

If Mumbai beaches were clean would rate 7!

I like Mumbai as I live here but am feeling sad giving Juhu beach 3 stars just because it's dirty. Actually many people visit & its over populated & they throw garbage. But sunset from here is beautiful that attracts many people.

Nice beach in Mumbai

Juhu beach is a long beach where you can walk but the water is not clean so i will not recommend you to swim. There is a few hotels where you can eat on the beach like Novotel ,sea princess or citizen hotel. You can also find all indian snack and ice cream on the beach.

Smelly beach

Smelly beach but NAZAARA was quite beautiful, we have been to ramada plaza near by beach, and had a yummy Chinese and Italian sea food there, I enjoyed a lot in restaurant more than that in beach. A beach need to be improved in cleanliness, view was beautiful, nice tourist attraction. It was a memorable trip to juhu beach.
