Been there with a group of friends and we had one of the best weekends at this place. Amidst the lush green surrounded by long trees, coffee and arecanut plantation. It was a peaceful place. They set up a fire camp for us.. Arranged for a loud music speakers with Bluetooth connect. Super tasty veg and non veg food and coffees at evening with lip smacking snacks... All in all a great memory and feels attached with the place. Of all Mr. Tejasvi a well read advocate lawyer was a great host and guide to our mini treks and activities around. Thanks for hosting us in your place.
We group of 8 people went to stay on 1 Oct 16, ambience is so good. Service & hospitality is so good, food is also very nice, located in between coffee estate, good atmosphere. Home stay is clean & good to stay. Finally, Everything is awesome.
There was no delay in check in and checkout process. The hotel was located in the centre of the city. The room price was very reasonable in the hotel. The internet facility was provided in the room. The food quality was nice in the hotel. The activity was arranged by the hotel.
I went to Jungle green Home-stay last weekend. It was really above the expectation what we had. The service provided by them is really good with good food. Homestay is located in heart of coffee estate where you will get exactly what you want and that is PEACE. Mr Tejaswi Who gave the warm welcome and will never forget the night sightseeing with high beam torch. And Last but not least Mr Rohit the Manager of home stay, The guy who took us to the home-stay when we stuck in mud. The way he has taken our XUV like dirt race we will never forget that ride. He is very humble guy who will take care of everything at your stay. I have so many thing to say but let me keep something for you to experience.
This is an amazing place to get a feel of living in a farm house in a beautiful remote estate. Thejas, the owner of the property and Rohit will pamper you with ultimate care. Whatever you ask them, they would never say no. Cook Chandru is a great guy, he will get whatever you ask for, however you ask for and whenever you ask for. Within few hours of check in they will make you feel like you own the place and will place no restrictions. There is a pond inside the property, right in front of the place where you would stay. Here you can go for fishing, we caught around 20 fish and cooked the same for dinner. For people who have been living in the city, you can have a wholesome experience of living in a jungle; you can see fireflies, hear peacocks and birds singing in the morning. If you want to feel nature, this is the place to go. This property is located in the right place that many of the tourist spots like the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Mullayanagiri hills etc are located in close proximity. Word of caution this is not like an expensive resort where you would pay hefty amount of money and get a commercial service, uninterrupted power supply etc. Power break down is very common across Chikmagalur. The team at the Jungle Greens Home Stay try hard to provide power supply with their generators and UPS boxes and make sure that the guests don't suffer.
Superb place. Economical to vallet. I suggest anyone to visit and enjoy the stay and scenic beauty around. Very good hospital. Best food offered during our stay. Thanks to Jungle Geeen. We shall visit for sure again. You can visit many places too. Don't miss the hill top and the shooting spot.
Totally after fedup with mountain valley stay and service we were looking for nice home stay, luckily we got Jungle Greens Home Stay was nice, owner is too friendly, a old man. Stay was great with complete jungle and nature. We would like to visit again and I strongly recommend this hotel for stay.
Location of the hotel was OK and was a pleasant stay in this hotel. Staff members were helpful. Interior and exterior appearance of the hotel was OK. Room was spacious and maintained neat and clean. There was no issue in check-in & check-out. Swimming pool, spa and gym was not available at this hotel. No site seeing has been arranged by Hotel management. There was no view outside of the window and balcony. No activities have been conducted by hotel management. Overall enjoyed the trip. Can suggest other travellers.
Jungle Greens Home Stay is a cosy home stay tucked deep in the green coffee estates of Chikmagalur. It’s two km from Malandur village and 18 Km from Chickmagalur town. The owner, Mr. Tejaswi was a gracious and friendly host who took great trouble in making the guests stay a memorable experience. The staffs are equally courteous and helpful. I spent my weekend this November here, and I was totally satisfied with my stay. The food was great, service was commendable and the staff super friendly. They really knew how to make our stay comfortable. For Rs. 2000 a night - per person - for a log cabin (wooden house on stilts) with three meals, welcome drink, tea and snacks, I thought, was a steal. A dormitory in the main house was even cheaper at Rs. 1600 per person and a large deluxe room was for Rs.1800. The single wooden cottage set bang in the middle of the coffee plants was, to me, the best of the three options. The cabin was fairly large with a sit-out and a clean toilet with decent sanitary fittings. A wooden staircase led to the cottage. There was a backdoor that led straight to the plantation. A neat feature of the cottage was that the double bed could be folded up against the wall flush, and the extra space was ideal for entertaining extra guests. Mr Tejaswi told me, he planned to build more cottages since this one was very popular with the guests and was always booked. The food was Malnad style with chicken as the main dish for non-veg guests. Pork and mutton made in traditional Chickmagalur style with aromatic spices, was available on demand. I opted for pork at night, but both pork and chicken was served as well and I didn't have to pay extra for pork. For the journey and to take home, I ordered 2 kg Pork @ Rs 350 per Kg. Veg food was also available. Breakfast was mainly Idily, dosa and sheera. The Bhadra National park is just 11 km from here. Jeep safari was available for Rs 400 per person. Other highlights are the four hills, waterfalls, trekking and white-water rafting. The Bhadra Dam is close by. Kemmangundi Hill Station is a must see and is about 40 km. For the price and the super experience, this place is highly recommended. But please be aware this is not a fancy resort with outdoor activities but a sort of rustic homestay where you unwind in tranquil surroundings and experience nature in all its diversity and absorb the Malnad estate culture, home life, hospitality and warmth. For thrill seekers there are numerable resorts and hotels who organize actives and have conducted tours to all hotspots at a price that’s three to four times this place. Mr. Tegaswi can however, organize outside jeeps to take you sightseeing at an additional cost (fixed price set by private operators). He wills also tailor-make a trip or activity best suited for you, your priorities and interests. Also be aware that being in the vicinity of the forest, there are bound to be creepy crawlies and bugs. Folks especially ladies who have an aversion to crickets, moths, beetles, cicadas, leeches and slugs, beware. If you can't live with nature and its bugs, stay at home. Also, like most home-stays with guests from different backgrounds and cultures, there is bound to be a little noise towards the evenings when the folks get together by the fireside and sing, joke, laugh, make merry with music and dance in myriad languages and styles. Please take this in your stride and accommodate. This will ensure a truly memorable experience for all. After 10 pm the host ensures cessation of all music and noise, though activities can continue both outside and in the rooms. Just a note of caution: The 1 km approach road to the home-stay is a little tricky, especially during monsoons and should be negotiated with care. Do the stretch slowly on 1st and 2nd gear and you should be fine.

We had a wonderful experience in this home stay. The hosts were too good and made the stay very pleasant and memorable. Their homestay was surrounded by lush green coffee estate.. All greenery around and fresh air. Mists coming in the morning to wish us on the holiday. On the whole it was a very relaxing holiday in a peaceful, quiet and wonderful place.
This was our first time at a home-stay and we were a bit apprehensive. But turned out to be a very nice experience. Set in the middle of a coffee plantation, this was my imagination of a typical Chikmaglur home. The home-stay is run by very hospitable folks and they strive hard to make us feel at home. Overall it was a pleasant trip for the family.
I stayed at the Estate Villa at Jungle Greens, with my family. The location was stunning with a 180 degree view of the forest. We had a nice quiet vacation, with long walks in the plantations and playing badminton/cricket etc in the front yard, which is huge. We had an attendant who helped with any small/big thing we needed. The facilities are good. No pretense at sphistication like the star hotels but everything you need is right there. The food was excellent, with a fair amount of variety. The host family extened us excellent hospitality. They arranged for a new year party for all the guests on the 31st, with no extra expense to any of us. The front and back yard of the estate villa can be developed - trees, plants and some grass would make the place even better. Hammocks would be ideal for lazing and gazing at the wonderful forest and the birds.
We stayed in the JUNGLE GREEN homestay for couple of days and had an awesome time here and around it. Thanks to owner Mr. Tejaswi for wonderful hospitality. 7 of us , workmates decided to take couple of days break and wanted to just loosen out . I zeroed upon this home stay from suggestion of my other workmates who had been here some months ago . They were all praise for the home stay. We went ahead , booked and reached the homestay & we certainly were not disappointed . The home stay is located just a km off road from mallandur . Its a awesome ride to reach here. We were received by Tejaswi himself. A warm welcome with a introductory handshake to all of us. All of us checked into our room and boom ..six double coats . double attached bathrooms ... just sooper n more to what we expected . The lunch was served and all of us belted nicely. Just the way we expected the dishes to be. Food on the whole was cooked well for us including our all next dinners , break fast n lunch. We loosened our selfs to a personal campfire station , setup in front our room itself . Every room had their own campfire. We had ball of a time relaxing , enjoying and slowing getting into the mood of the ghat... The campfire thing repeated the next day too. Overall i would surely recommend all of u to visit this home stay and reap the warmth of the owners hospitality . All the famous places like muliiyangiri , baba budangiri , muthodi forest etc are at short travel distances from this home stay. Apart from this , Tejaswi himself would guide you with directions to places u would love , enjoy and feel happy to have visited like banndeykallu , falls , shooting spot etc ....
My overall experience was good from this hotel. I stayed for three to four nights in this hotel. I reached the hotel by own car. Hotel was located at the silent place. Location was good. Inner and outer look of the hotel was fabulous. Booking and front office was very nice. Staff behaviour was cordial. Services were quick. Rooms were neat and clean and spacious. TV, AC, fridge and other basic amenities were available. Outside view was available from the room window. Food was delicious. Nothing was available in activities. Chikmagalur place is beautiful for travel. It was an adventurous holiday with a group in September month 2014. It is a recommendable hotel for travellers.
