This resorts run by the Jungle lodges govt enterprises at Kabini near to Nagarahole National Park, and it includes accommodation, food and wild life safari. Activities like bird watching, safari, boating and other small outdoor games and nature walk is enjoyable here. The staff are good and friendly. Totally is worth for money what we are paying.

Very nice hotel, a bit pricey but they provide excellent service. The rooms are quite spacious and nicely designed. The breakfast spread is very good, front office staff was helpful in my queries. Lean and refreshing rooms, highly recommend for anyone wanting a very good stay and I had great experience.

One of the good jungle resorts we have been, we been to many junglers like corbett, bandhavgarh, kanha, gir, pench, but nagar hole jungle was just the best, this resort specially the safari staff within, nice restaurant locations, what a room sizes, huge bathrooms, nice space outside all cottages and rooms, good walk from rooms to restaurant, fantastic river view besides resorts, even if it's raining like we faced good arrangements and great plantations.

My family, friends and I visit this place. I opted for cottage and surprised to see the excellent five star hotel like accommodation in such a remote place and that too owned by government. Even though we are skeptical and thought the cost per head was very high for one day after staying and enjoying the safari we felt the cost is reasonable. Food is excellent and the staff and rangers are very courteous with all animal lovers. We spotted tiger, elephants, bison, crocodile and many species of birds. We all carried lots of sweet memories from this trip.

I was a bit sceptical when i learnt it was a govt run outfit.

I was supremely thrilled on all fronts

1. The room was spacious, quite regal and opened into a vast garden with butterflies dancing attendance.

2. The location - on the banks of the Kabini backwaters. Early morning walks were ethereal.

3. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - sumptuous and tasty would be an understatement.

4. Fulfilling jungle safari. We were fortunate in getting a knowledgeable and alert guide. It is because of his astute observation we spotted a tigress.

I went to this resort during October and the weather is just perfect to enjoy the jungle. This resort lies amidst the jungle so it is perfect for nature lovers. The rooms and the hotel, appearance are old but it's still decent. It is the best among the choices offered in Kabini. The food was not that great, hotel could use a little renovation!

Jungle Forest lodge have are the places which actually organize the safaris. These are the starting point of all safaris and they have good guide. They will help you see the wildlife. We went after monsoon and hence could not see the big cat.

The resort all has rope net which was fun for our whole group. The safaris are such that they will keep you busy for the whole day.

We visited Nagarhole National Park (Karnataka) in June 2015. We stayed for one night at Kabini River Lodge (KRL) which is property of Govt. Of Karnataka (and managed by Jungle Lodges & Resorts). From Bangalore airport, the resort is located at village Karapura which is about 240 Kms. Barring the traffic at Bangalore, Mysore and Mandya, the drive from Bangalore to Kabini River Lodge is very good. We have to drive through Bidadi - Ramanagara Chennapatna - Mandya Srirangapatna Mysore HD Kote Road Hand Post - Karapura (Kabini). We have to take the HD Kote road from Mysore to Kabini. KRL has the following variety of accommodation Maharaja Cottages & Cottages. Rooms & Tented rooms. The tented rooms have a tented roof and have a queen size bed and a couple of chairs. The pucca constructed bathroom cum toilet has a wash basin, area for shower bath and a western commode. Value for money accommodation. The Rooms are big and very comfortable. The ceiling is at a height of almost 30 feet and the room feels comfortable even during the day even in the month of June. The rooms are very comfortable. The bath rooms have a wash basin, western commode and a cubicle for shower bath. All the Cottages oversee the Kabini river. All meals (buffet) are served at the open air restaurant. Food is tasty. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served at the restaurant. Before the start of the safari, tea / coffee are served along with biscuits at the gol ghar. For the alcohol lovers, a bar is available in the club house. Basic alcoholic drinks with snacks are served at the bar. Every evening at 7. 30 pm, a film on wildlife is shown at the hall in the club house. The room attendants or the attendants at the gol ghar are very courteous and helpful. The jungle safari, in a jeep, starts from the gol ghar itself. Booking for the resort can be done online on the jungle lodges & resorts (jlr) website. For single occupancy (person staying alone in a room), additional charges are applicable on the tariff mentioned on the website. One has to contact jlr bangalore office who will send a link through which payment has to be remitted. Also the naturalists are very knowledgeable especially mr. Shivanand and mr. Afsar. We really enjoyed our stay at the kabini river lodge.

I went there with my family. It is a bit small hotel. When we entered, there were very less people to be seen. So we ordered food and went to explore the hotel till then the rooms were very nice and food was delicious. The Chinese food was really tasty. By the time we were roaming in the hotel they made all the food. So they were really very quick. So although a small it was a really nice hotel and would become one of the biggest hotels of the city.
