I Stayed with my friends at Jungle Lodge Kabini in July for 2 nights. I have to admit my disappointment with respect to the rooms, showers and arrogance of the service staff.

First and foremost the rooms are desperately in need to upgrades, painting touch up, more lights and something is required to keep the insects, spiders, and lizards out of the room. I had a lizard fell on my face at night and I am still irritated when I think of the incident. The showers were also pathetic and need upgrading.

Secondly the staff are not customer centric. The bar closes early, and buffet spread for dinner was cold by 9:30!! The general manager of the property was so arrogant that it felt like we were dealing with some clerk in the local RTO office. He had zero tolerance and just walk away when we asked him questions on the room / facilities.

I would have butchered the rating for Jungle Lodge Kabini, however, we did see a leopard during the safaris & the walk around the campus was also very beautiful which is why I give this rating.

I do not recommend this property as it is expensive and lacks on many fronts with its neighbours. It's better to stay at Water Woods or Serai than to suffer with another government organization.

Kabin River Lodge is a 5 star accommodation in Nagarhole Tiger Reserve area. It is actually built by Mysore Maharaja's to stay when he goes for Hunting. Double occupancy will cost you INR 15,000/-. Child below 12 yrs are free. Staff is polite and well-mannered. Stay includes food (A lavish Veg and Non veg buffet for breakfast, lunch, Hi-tea and dinner), accommodation and Tiger safari in open jeeps and boat rides. Though they don't have WiFi in the rooms but you can get it in reception area. Rooms are well-maintained and you will get a feel of Maharaja. Good that they don't have TV in the rooms. Only one regret is they don't have A.C. in the rooms and fans run at a very low speeds.

April and May is the right time to stay here as you may get chance of spotting tigers. They have a nice conference room with 25 seating capacity and a screen with a projector. Every day at 7.00 pm they show a small documentary about Kabini river lodge and Tiger conservation.

Its a must see location for the people who would like to visit Tiger safaris and want to stay in a jungle.

The resort is ideally located on the backwaters of the Kabini River Dam and is very close to the Nagarhole National Park. The rooms are very spacious, well-maintained with an exotic, ideal for a forest reserve kind of look. There are sit outs facing the backwaters, good for a relaxed evening. A three day stay is a must in view as it enables the tourist to take it in at least four safaris in different directions and helps improve wildlife sightings. I managed to see a tigress and her two cubs as well as a leopard during my visit in April 2015. Food is sumptuous, although variety could be improved. The service and courtesy of the staff is exemplary.

The jeep & boat safari arranged by the jungle lodge were awesome. We were lucky to spot lot of wild animals including a leopard. The location of the lodge on the banks of the river gives a good view of the river. Absence of AC in the room was a let down.

The hotel was maintained by the forest department. The booking took a long time because the staff revert back after a month. The hotel was near a river. It was difficult to locate the resort. Pick up and drop facility was provided. They would provide vehicle for jungle safari. Check-in and check-out was very easy. 12 hours check-in and check-out facility was provided. The hotel was very expensive. The food was very nice. Both North Indian and South Indian option was provided there. The stay was worth the money spent. The appearance of the hotel was very beautiful.

The destination is an awesome place to visit and I had my own vehicle for travelling. The hotel is convenient to locate though it is situated in jungle, the connectivity is very good. The appearance was maintained well and interiors are attractive. The staff members at this hotel were helpful and professional in services. I did not face any problem in check-in or check-out procedure. The room allotted to me was Maharaja Room which was spacious and very well maintained with all the amenities in good condition. There are lots of activities like campfire, barbeque, safari and bar also was available. There was kids play area also available at this hotel. The food provided in the hotel was also very good in quality and taste. According to me the hotel is excellent in everything and I had a wonderful experience here.

One of the best place to live among nature, a true loving place for wild life enthusiasts and adventurers, situated near the river, has the best scenic view. Service provided was excellent, food was great and room's were clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly, had a large pool and plenty of activities to do. They also arrange safari service through boat and also Jeep. Best place for wild life enthusiasts highly recommended.
