Kabini River Lodge Reviews
The hotel was located outside of the city. The hotel was well maintained. It was an old hotel. The behaviour of the staff’s was very good. The overall service was very good. The food quality was nice. The complimentary breakfast was provided by the hotel. I had visited this hotel for family trip. There was no suggestion for this hotel. The parking facility was good. I had booked the room by online.
We had booked this hotel for 2 nights for the wild life safari that it offers. It has all the modern facility one needs and has exclusive access to the jungle. It offers two safaris one in morning and one at night.. You may swap as per your convenience. It is a bit pricey for its facilities and offerings, But the resort is good. Food is also excellent.. Go for it if you have a budget for it.
Kabini made me speechless. It was an amazing experience. From food to the stay to the activities to the services. Everything was just perfect. It was an experience I would never forget. It included two safaris in the nagarhole tiger reserve. A beautiful place to visit.
I had visited this hotel with my family. I was satisfied this hotel room. The room was neat and clean. Wi-Fi service was available at this hotel. The food facility was available at this hotel. The food quality and quantity was good. The behaviour of staff's was good. I would recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The overall experience was good. The hotel had not provided transportation facility.
Jungle lodges Kabini is a great place to stay if you love visiting the wild. We stayed in a cottage and its damn spacious, neat and clean. Bathroom was also pretty clean and has a bathtub with jacuzzi. Very well maintained with a good view of the river Kabini. Kent RO fitted outside the room and at dinner place for drinking water. Food is of very good quality and has good variety. Both boat and jeep safari is awesome. Spotted some sloth bear, elephant, deer, etc. We missed the big cat due to impatience but if you are patient and ready to wait at a spot for more than 30 mins the drivers exactly know the spot to get a glimpse of the wild. We waited at a spot near a water hole for 30 mins and then moved to explore other parts of the jungle though the driver insisted on waiting there to spot a tiger. About 10 mins after we moved the other jeep spotted a tigress with cubs at the very same place. But irrespective of whether you spot a big cat, its a wonderful experience to see the jungle. Boat safari was pretty good. We took an early morning safari and got to see the river mist. We saw and elephant and sighted a big heard of spotted deer on the bank of the river. Amazing scenery and great experience. Excellent cottage, good food, great location and awesome safaris. Overall a must visit place.
JLR kabini is One of the best jungle property in Karnataka apart from the Bison kabini. I have visited this place for more than 10 times but the only pain is the property is too expensive but its worth paying it if the price is reduced I would like to visit this place frequently with family. The only thing I don't like in this property is that they don't value outsiders apart from the guest who is in the property. If there is any VIP guest other guests will be ignored. The property is really too good.
This resorts run by the Jungle lodges govt enterprises at Kabini near to Nagarahole National Park, and it includes accommodation, food and wild life safari. Activities like bird watching, safari, boating and other small outdoor games and nature walk is enjoyable here. The staff are good and friendly. Totally is worth for money what we are paying.
Very nice hotel, a bit pricey but they provide excellent service. The rooms are quite spacious and nicely designed. The breakfast spread is very good, front office staff was helpful in my queries. Lean and refreshing rooms, highly recommend for anyone wanting a very good stay and I had great experience.
One of the good jungle resorts we have been, we been to many junglers like corbett, bandhavgarh, kanha, gir, pench, but nagar hole jungle was just the best, this resort specially the safari staff within, nice restaurant locations, what a room sizes, huge bathrooms, nice space outside all cottages and rooms, good walk from rooms to restaurant, fantastic river view besides resorts, even if it's raining like we faced good arrangements and great plantations.

I have been to Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge in September last week. The weather was serene and while approaching Kabini, the beautiful landscapes beckoned us to a heavenly trip. We went from Mysore via KSRTC bus, got down at hand post and took another private bus to Karapura. The village is 3-4 km from Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge and the staffs were so courteous they came to pick us up from the village on calling them about the reservation. We reached their by 2:00 PM and proceeded to the lunch buffet. The accommodation had an old world charm and we felt we were in a different world far from the deafening noise, traffic. We stayed in one of the tents which were far better than what it actually looked like from the outside. The lunch was yummy, vegetarian and non-vegetarian were finger-licking good and then we proceeded to take rest for an hour. The view outside the tent was breath-taking, just on the banks of Kabini River and we proceeded to the jungle safari, we managed to spot a tiger and lots of deer, Malabar squirrel, peacocks. The safari was amazing and we came back for tea and a wild life short film which was informative. We were treated to an extraordinary barbeque buffet and walked back to the tent with our stomachs full. We had an early morning wakeup call and had coffee and embarked on the most interesting aspect of the tour, the speed boat ride on the River Kabini. The staffs were very courteous and most of the other people in the resort opted for a second safari making our group of four only take the boat ride. The views were breath-taking, the guides offered extraordinary details on the wildlife, birds and we were able to spot many deer, squirrels at the edges of the river. There is an amazing island just near the edge of the forest which had a peacock and horn-bills nesting. We came back at around 9 AM after an exhilarating experience and the breakfast buffet was awesome as usual. We packed our bags and left to our next destination with full of beautiful memories. The price of 12000/- per night for two people in a tented accommodation might seem high however it includes jeep safari, boat ride, lunch and dinner buffet. The staff is the most courteous and refused to be tipped even when no was watching. Pack your bags and get yourself treated to one of the most amazing and best jungle safari lodges in India.
It was an eye opener of sorts. To realize and appreciate the beauty of wildlife in India. When foreigners prefer to come to India as tourists, being indians, it is our utmost duty to showcase our rich flora, fauna and grandeur. Located amidst pristine surroundings, jungle lodge resort has carved a niche for itself. It is difficult to believe, it is run by a semi govt company. You are for a pleasant shock. Everything is so professional. Courteous staff ever ready to serve with a smile, clean and spacious rooms, spic and span dining hall, very tasty buffet food, a decent well stacked bar, eco friendly items etc.
the place was great, the resort was very nice, the wildlife spectacular. JLR is probably the only good thing the government has done. It is hard to believe that is a government establishment since they provide great service, efficiently. the highlight of trips are definitely the safaris into the forest. we were there for 3 nights and went for 5 of the possible 6 safaris. the place is family friendly too. there are huge hammocks by the lake on which you can lounge around on. we had our 11 month old son in tow with us, and did not encounter any serious inconvenices. you pay a lot for the room (or tented cottage in our case), but private resorts charge almost the same. In JLR all safari, camera and entrace costs are included, so you don;t need to pay extra for anything (unless you have drinks, and tips). Another useful feature: they have 24 hr electricity. So while you are constantly suffering power cuts in bangalore, at kabini you have unlimited power. the food is also good, buffets all along. the guides are fairly knowledgable and if bird watching is your thing, the guides will be able to help you identify a lot of bird species found there. the resort is very beautiful. its very green, obviously, being in the forest. it is well laid out, lots of room to walk, hammocks by the lake to relax on, nice dining area, it is kept clean by a staff of attenders. they give you a brief spiel of what you will be doing there when you arrive- the focus is on the safaris and the food. they also have a fun coracle ride, that may be more fun in summer when you have a great chance of seeing wildlife on the shores. we stayed for 3 nights, but i think a 2 night, 3 day trip may be best. we will be going back during the summer hopefully to enjoy the quier, serenity, greenery, peace and the prospect of seeing the large cats.
It was wonderfull expirence at Kabini Jungle lodges and resorts, rather it was expirence of lifetime. Its a nice property and i was just amazed and couldnt believe it was Sarkari, the services and the attitude of the staff was as good as any five star. buffet we had at Jungle Resorts was very homely and we just enjoyed eating at kabini(we came to kabini just after our stay at club mahindra coorg, the buffet spread there was big and nice, but we actually enjoyed eating @ kabini then at coorg) even stay was comfortable, the best thing was theres no T.V in the room .
We visited Nagarhole National Park (Karnataka) in June 2015. We stayed for one night at Kabini River Lodge (KRL) which is property of Govt. Of Karnataka (and managed by Jungle Lodges & Resorts). From Bangalore airport, the resort is located at village Karapura which is about 240 Kms. Barring the traffic at Bangalore, Mysore and Mandya, the drive from Bangalore to Kabini River Lodge is very good. We have to drive through Bidadi - Ramanagara Chennapatna - Mandya Srirangapatna Mysore HD Kote Road Hand Post - Karapura (Kabini). We have to take the HD Kote road from Mysore to Kabini. KRL has the following variety of accommodation Maharaja Cottages & Cottages. Rooms & Tented rooms. The tented rooms have a tented roof and have a queen size bed and a couple of chairs. The pucca constructed bathroom cum toilet has a wash basin, area for shower bath and a western commode. Value for money accommodation. The Rooms are big and very comfortable. The ceiling is at a height of almost 30 feet and the room feels comfortable even during the day even in the month of June. The rooms are very comfortable. The bath rooms have a wash basin, western commode and a cubicle for shower bath. All the Cottages oversee the Kabini river. All meals (buffet) are served at the open air restaurant. Food is tasty. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is served at the restaurant. Before the start of the safari, tea / coffee are served along with biscuits at the gol ghar. For the alcohol lovers, a bar is available in the club house. Basic alcoholic drinks with snacks are served at the bar. Every evening at 7. 30 pm, a film on wildlife is shown at the hall in the club house. The room attendants or the attendants at the gol ghar are very courteous and helpful. The jungle safari, in a jeep, starts from the gol ghar itself. Booking for the resort can be done online on the jungle lodges & resorts (jlr) website. For single occupancy (person staying alone in a room), additional charges are applicable on the tariff mentioned on the website. One has to contact jlr bangalore office who will send a link through which payment has to be remitted. Also the naturalists are very knowledgeable especially mr. Shivanand and mr. Afsar. We really enjoyed our stay at the kabini river lodge.
