A resort brings visions of swimming pools, activity rooms, service and amenities at your fingertips and plush comfort. By that definition, it would be a misnomer to call Jungle View a 'Resort'.

If I were to classify it, maybe "tent stay" would be the closest I can think of.

The place is off the main road and not far off from the edge of the jungle. However, you are unlikely to encounter animals any wilder than some unusual birds near the property.

Comprising of about 7-8 tents and 4 concrete cottages the rest of the area is a large lawn which provides ample space for outdoor activity, some fun and games and a barbeque & liquor infused night of revelry with friends.

The dining area is a large partly covered cottage, sadly with no fans.

The tents are made from cloth and have semi constructed bathrooms with the basic bathroom fixtures.

There is electricity and a portable a. C. For much needed cooling.

Not much else in the room - no doors, no phone, no amenities and no tv in the entire resort in fact. No activity room or swimming pool either. So apart from the jungle safari's there is little to do inside.

Add to it, the jungle problem of lots of insects and mosquitoes, so sitting out at night can also be a bit difficult.

The owner Gudduji is a fantastic host though, and would help you out with everything needed at the resort and outside it. He even went out of his way to accommodate one of our requests and that was very sweet. His trusted aide Mukesh is also very helpful, but its a real shame the rest of the staff doesn't fit the bill.

The sad part is they don't clean your rooms or change linen unless specifically asked to do so. So please remember to inform them well in advance to avoid walking into a messy room at night.

Now coming to the other addition which is part of the package - the food.

In a resort where you hardly have any options to eat out, the in house food better be great, but unfortunately it can be called mediocre at best in this case.

The menus are small, and the taste is average.

Breakfast involves bread butter jam along with another dish - maybe aloo paratha or puri aloo.

Lunch is a purely vegetarian affair with 2-3 gravies, dal, rice and rotis. Dinner has a non veg dish in place of a veg one.

So the food was certainly not its strength. What's worse, most of us had a stomach ache by the time we got through 5 meals there, so quality was not good either.

And it's not that they are cheaply priced, which makes the value for money quotient very poor.

So my rating would be-

Rooms - 3. 5/5

Food - 2. 5/5

Service - 3/5

Activities - 2. 5/5

VFM - 2. 5/5

And that sums up a mediocre experience. Feel sad for the owner though, wish he could make it better.

Quality of the resort was very good, staff and owner Mr Guddu was nice. Restaurant and food was good quality, location of resort was very ample front of jungle. Room service was good, very big and main tented lawn on resort. Pick up and drop service from Railway station was a very good experience.

Itís a comfortable resort. Parking facility is available inside the resort. There is a jungle view and is surrounded by hills. Check-in and check-out was prompt. They had buffet system, food was tasty, perfect and we had all the varieties. Room was neat and clean. Resort will arrange for activities if requested.

The overall ambience was too good, the staff was very helping and the owner, Mr Qureshi extremely cooperative. The peace and the calm in the tent overwhelming and we were even greeted by a chameleon on the bed who sprinted away quickly.

Best Experience: Everything was good actually, the food was tasty and they even took care to arrange Bournvita, chocos for the kids.

Worst Experience: Not worst, actually, but i think when a bed for a child is charged in the tent, a bed should be given and not a simple mattress. i don't think any parent would have the heart to let her child sleep on the floor in cold.

The location of the resort was very good. The service was excellent... it was very easy to commute, if you have your own car. The booking for canter and gypsy was done without any hassel. Would suggest everybody to stay there. May not be very good if you are travelling with parents.. but with friends it is lovely

Best Experience: The folk dance and the location

Worst Experience: The cost of water

good. We reached Ranthambore at night. We had to search our resort almost in the Jungle at night. The booking for next day safari was done on the way. Next day the Safari reach our hotel on time. We really loved searching for the Tigher that day.

Best Experience: Staying in the luxury tent at night and finding that Tiger was nearby at night

Worst Experience: reaching the venue at 1.30 am at night

Away from the city rush and very near to the national park entry. Ideal for a wild life trip. The resort has a good garden and entertainment options to spend time. The approach road is little shaky for around half a KM but that is the case for most of the resorts around. Inside, the security is fine and did not feel anything amiss. Hot water available anytime. Food was good and the resort is keen to organize extra activities like bonfire, folk dance programe etc at no extra cost. Great hospitality over all. Rooms are basic but the exterior and hospitality does not give a chance to complain about.

Best Experience: bonfire, folk dance programme, free pick ups and drops to and from the city, safari arrangements even at short notice.
