This is my second visit to Hotel Sarovar at tallital, location of hotel as usual superb, this time my room is royal deluxe room 002, interior of the room is mind blowing as you compared to other hotels of Nainital, where prices were too high and rooms are messy.. But here at hotel Sarovar all rooms are at very reasonable rate, big bathrooms spaciou....Read More
Spacious place and cordial staff. Good food and location. Being on hilltop the mall road would be bit far so plan at lake area for the entire day. Then go up to KMVN for a pleasant night. Boating is a good experience here, 7 points sightseeing is not worthy but one have to as a time-pass, this will cost 800/- to 1000/- Mall road consist of lots of....Read More

Situated opposite to Naini Lake, next to market and bus stand. Lovely breakfast. Spacious rooms. The food outside is not so good so have a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel. The dinner is also good at night because it is too cold to move out in December. Taxi for sightseeing is also available at the office.
Though a bit stiff climb, but the view from lake facing room is awesome, specially at night when all the Mall road market lit up and reflections on the water makes it a sight to behold. I have visited this property numerous times with parents, with friends, with my own family and found it in good condition at all times. Good, clean and big sized ro....Read More
We stayed there from 13/02/2015 to 17/02/2015. The weather was excellent and all facilities were available. Its advisable to select the Hotel by all who can climb steep road and some stairs. Otherwise the hotel is one of the best property in Nainital.
My visit is only for full enjoyment with family and the journey was very nice. The tall look was very nice from my staying room. So I have taken more and more snaps. The hotel was located near to the Mall Road. I faced no problem to find this hotel. Behaviour of the staff members was nice. It was near to bus stand. The experience was good. It was a....Read More

Top Reviews of KMVN Tourist Rest House Tallital
We booked KMVN Tallital for our weekend trip after reading the travel reviews and were quite happy with the outcome. One of the good reasons you should book this hotel is that it offers the most beautiful lakeside view. The hotels on the Mall road have obstructed views to the Naini lake because of the trees surrounding the lake and the hustle and bustle of people and vehicles swaying to and fro beneath. KMVN on the other hand is perpendicular to the Mall road and its altitude helps offer the perfect view to the Naini lake. Provided you are willing to climb some extra steps to get to the upper floors of this resort, you are assured of the most scenic and uninterrupted lake view here. Its proximity to the bus stand also is a plus point. We reached the hotel at 9 AM in the morning, and in spite of the check-in timing being 12 Noon, the manager checked the availability and readily offered us our booking before time. Also, the next day we checked out our room at 12 Noon and the hotel management was helpful to offer us the cloakroom for keeping our luggage. We then went ahead for a lake tour and came back to the hotel by evening to collect our luggage and board the bus back home. The rooms are pretty clean, food is simple yet good and service is nice. The hotel has maintained a nice garden near its front office which adds charm to this place. The hotel staff is courteous. Considering the economically priced tariff, this place offers you a very nice and pleasurable stay.
had booked with a little trepidation, was wondering if a govt run property would be well run.Was pleasantly surprised .The location is excellent. we stayed for 3 nights in the royal rooms and they were really royal.huge area with open balcony overlooking the lake, a dining table, a sit out bed, a swing in the rooms itself. The bathrooms were the size of a room itself. While booking for nainital ,some of the well known resorts which appear on the different sites look promising. But when you reach the destination, you would realise that staying closer to the lake is a good thing to do otherwise the climb back to your hotels would have you huffing and puffing like a train. The breakfast is basic but good nutritious stuff espacially when travelling with kids. The staff is reasonably helpful. Most importantly the hotel is barely 3-4 minutes from the mall yet very peaceful so you would get the best of both worlds. My comments are based on the stay in the royal rooms ,i will not comment on the other rooms in the resort. All in all ,a good experience which just reaffirms the fact that govt properties which usually have prime locations ,if well run will deliver a holiday at honest prices.
Nainital is a very beautiful place for tourists. This was my maiden visit to Nainital. The city is located just beside the Naini Lake which is a major tourist attraction especially in the evening time. People of Nainital are very kind hearted and helpful.
KMVN-Sarovar Resort, Nainital (Tallital) Tourism Development Corporation is taking great efforts in Kumaon and this resort is the jewel in the crown of KMVN. This is the best hotel managed by KMVN, though may not be the best hotel in Nainital. All rooms and the restaurant have a nice view of the Naini Lake. Sarovar resort at Tallital is a decent place to live, spend hours looking at the beautiful Naini Lake and enjoy the cool weather. Go for the super deluxe rooms, they are the value for money. Not as expensive as other elite resorts but luxurious indeed. Food, Room Services, Housekeeping etc. – Do not expect very great food, its average in variety but good enough to complain about. (You may go to nearby Elphinstone hotel for a change of taste, they’ll give you a nice veg & non-veg food.) The reception will not offer you a newspaper (although purchased for every room) till you demand. Hospitality industry is in a budding stage here. Activities – Boating in the naini lake at any hour of the day, morning walks around the lake, visiting various lakes in this ‘lake district’, enjoying a boat ride in ‘Sat Tal’ is more enjoyable than at Nainital. The ‘kadhi-chawal’ is a local treat after your boating. Tips for the travelers – - If you book a KMVN hotel at Nainital, do not go for the snow-view resort or another one of KMVN is the Sukha-Tal resort which doesn’t give lake-view. Insist on Sarovar & Sarovar only. People go for the ropeway ride to the snow point, its just a kids’ joy ride, except getting a panoramic view of the lake it doesn’t offer anything great. You end up spending 2 hours in going and coming back.
The hotel is good to stay during off season as the tarrif goes down. Bathrooms are clean and spacious, Room size is also satisfactory. However, during peak season, when you spend more money, it doesn\'t meet up the expectations.
