Spacious place and cordial staff. Good food and location. Being on hilltop the mall road would be bit far so plan at lake area for the entire day. Then go up to for a pleasant night. Boating is a good experience here, 7 points sightseeing is not worthy but one have to as a time-pass, this will cost 800/- to 1000/- Mall road consist of lots of shopping option and restaurants. Naina Devi temple, Gurdwara & mosque adjacent to parking area is a additional benefit to tourists. Bhutia markets is a good place to get fashionable stuff in reasonable price.
Excellent location with good hospitality and it is located near to the bus stand and there were shopping malls, temple and lakes nearby. Hotel appearance, exterior and interior were very good. Staff were good, polite and professional with good room service. There was problem while checking-in but no problem while checking-out and there were no activities. The room was neat, clean and comfortable with good working basic amenities. I had food and the quality and taste of the food was very good, but there was no South Indian food and coffee facility. There was a parking space facility in front of the hotel. I stayed there with family for relaxation.
We reached here around by 1 PM, after a joyful journey by Shatabdi Express, which started from Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi at 6. 05 AM Climbing 50 stairs to the Hotel was a little difficult for two Senior Citizen couples, but the ambience and the wellhead staff did their best to make us comfortable. The only four bedded room was available to us and it was neat and clean. The room was with Naini Lake view. Homely food and well spread breakfast was served in the dining hall. There was no provision for any activity like Card room, TT, Carom, Gym, Yoga, and Bone-Fire. Most of the state tourism development corporations are offering special discounts up to 30 percent to the senior citizens, but this guest house lacks it. Over all good experience and I will recommend to friends.
Let me start with the positives of this hotel: 1) Location : Very nicely located . Not exactly at the Mall Road but very near to Mall road . 2) View of Lake (You will get the very good view of the Naini-Lake) 3) Value for Money Rooms (Rooms are not very expensive and have got all the basic necessities) 4) Service (Staff is very supportive and caring). Negatives: 1) It is not suited for old-age persons as the numbers of stairs are too much. 2) Food Quality - Although most of the travelers have mentioned food as good but my experience was not like them might be because of the off season . Whatever could have been the reason but the food was not good. Options in the Breakfast were very- limited. It might be because we went there during the off season. Dinner is also not good. You can't say is as a good food . I would rate it as average. 3) Rooms were very- cold and the room heater which they provided (On payment) was the basic heater of old days which was used to cook food.
Though a bit stiff climb, but the view from lake facing room is awesome, specially at night when all the Mall road market lit up and reflections on the water makes it a sight to behold. I have visited this property numerous times with parents, with friends, with my own family and found it in good condition at all times. Good, clean and big sized rooms. Good staff and food. Rooms are very competitively priced. It is absolute delight for budget travellers like me.
Booking was done by the government office there. I went there in June with family. It was a relax kind of holiday. Nainital as a destination is good. It was centrally located. Hotel's location was good. Hotel's appearance like building, decoration, etc. Was also good. There was no problem in check-in and checkout procedure. Booking and front office service was good. Service of the hotel's staff was also good and on time. Room was good and spacious. AC, freeze, were not required there. Food was available there but I took only breakfast there. Breakfast was complimentary. They provided a car for sightseeing. Activities were good.
Over all experience was good. Hotel was good. Location was good. It was in the main city. Appearance was good. Staff and service was good. Rooms were not that good and well maintained. Washrooms, Bath rooms were good. There was a lake view. Amenities were working properly. Pick-up and drop was available. It was a honey moon trip. Food was not good. There were no activities. Sight seeing was arranged. Hotel was value for money and I would like to recommend this hotel to others.
After returning from binsar, kaushani, chakuri, munshiyari I felt this is a crowded place, although the trh is at one end of the lake but still it is not the right place to relax. The approach to the hotel is not at all lucrative but rooms are really big, clean (I have booked royal room), foods are tasty, seating area outside the room is good. View of lake and hill from the room is fine. The negative thing is they will not provide the drivers accommodation free when all others do so. However this is still better than the hotels on the mall road, during snowfall snow view trh will be the better option. If you want to avoid the crowed then plan to stay naukuchiatal, sattal, Gupta and take a day tour to Nainital. The high altitude zoo and a horse ride through jungle to six points at Nainital is appreciable.
This is UK gov property. It's on the prime location in Nainital. Hotel is nice and clean. Food is not as expected but okay. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are nice warm. They provided heater in our room. View from hotel is great. The staff is happy and helpful. Economy rooms are not for elderly people since we have climb lot for Eco rooms. Executive rooms are great.
The experience was good. It was a good stay in the hotel. It was near to bus stand. Surroundings of the hotel were nice. The interior and exterior of the hotel was good. The staff were helpful, friendly and hygienic, they were quick to attend our requests. The room was spacious, neat, clean and maintained. All the amenities were in working condition. We had a lake view from the room. Check-in and check-out was done without any problem. Activities were not provided in the hotel. They organize a sightseeing trip. I will recommend this hotel to other travellers. The food was good with many varieties. It was reasonable.
We booked KMVN Tallital for our weekend trip after reading the travel reviews and were quite happy with the outcome. One of the good reasons you should book this hotel is that it offers the most beautiful lakeside view. The hotels on the Mall road have obstructed views to the Naini lake because of the trees surrounding the lake and the hustle and bustle of people and vehicles swaying to and fro beneath. KMVN on the other hand is perpendicular to the Mall road and its altitude helps offer the perfect view to the Naini lake. Provided you are willing to climb some extra steps to get to the upper floors of this resort, you are assured of the most scenic and uninterrupted lake view here. Its proximity to the bus stand also is a plus point. We reached the hotel at 9 AM in the morning, and in spite of the check-in timing being 12 Noon, the manager checked the availability and readily offered us our booking before time. Also, the next day we checked out our room at 12 Noon and the hotel management was helpful to offer us the cloakroom for keeping our luggage. We then went ahead for a lake tour and came back to the hotel by evening to collect our luggage and board the bus back home. The rooms are pretty clean, food is simple yet good and service is nice. The hotel has maintained a nice garden near its front office which adds charm to this place. The hotel staff is courteous. Considering the economically priced tariff, this place offers you a very nice and pleasurable stay.
had booked with a little trepidation, was wondering if a govt run property would be well run.Was pleasantly surprised .The location is excellent. we stayed for 3 nights in the royal rooms and they were really royal.huge area with open balcony overlooking the lake, a dining table, a sit out bed, a swing in the rooms itself. The bathrooms were the size of a room itself. While booking for nainital ,some of the well known resorts which appear on the different sites look promising. But when you reach the destination, you would realise that staying closer to the lake is a good thing to do otherwise the climb back to your hotels would have you huffing and puffing like a train. The breakfast is basic but good nutritious stuff espacially when travelling with kids. The staff is reasonably helpful. Most importantly the hotel is barely 3-4 minutes from the mall yet very peaceful so you would get the best of both worlds. My comments are based on the stay in the royal rooms ,i will not comment on the other rooms in the resort. All in all ,a good experience which just reaffirms the fact that govt properties which usually have prime locations ,if well run will deliver a holiday at honest prices.
Nainital is a very beautiful place for tourists. This was my maiden visit to Nainital. The city is located just beside the Naini Lake which is a major tourist attraction especially in the evening time. People of Nainital are very kind hearted and helpful.
KMVN-Sarovar Resort, Nainital (Tallital) Tourism Development Corporation is taking great efforts in Kumaon and this resort is the jewel in the crown of KMVN. This is the best hotel managed by KMVN, though may not be the best hotel in Nainital. All rooms and the restaurant have a nice view of the Naini Lake. Sarovar resort at Tallital is a decent place to live, spend hours looking at the beautiful Naini Lake and enjoy the cool weather. Go for the super deluxe rooms, they are the value for money. Not as expensive as other elite resorts but luxurious indeed. Food, Room Services, Housekeeping etc. – Do not expect very great food, its average in variety but good enough to complain about. (You may go to nearby Elphinstone hotel for a change of taste, they’ll give you a nice veg & non-veg food.) The reception will not offer you a newspaper (although purchased for every room) till you demand. Hospitality industry is in a budding stage here. Activities – Boating in the naini lake at any hour of the day, morning walks around the lake, visiting various lakes in this ‘lake district’, enjoying a boat ride in ‘Sat Tal’ is more enjoyable than at Nainital. The ‘kadhi-chawal’ is a local treat after your boating. Tips for the travelers – - If you book a KMVN hotel at Nainital, do not go for the snow-view resort or another one of KMVN is the Sukha-Tal resort which doesn’t give lake-view. Insist on Sarovar & Sarovar only. People go for the ropeway ride to the snow point, its just a kids’ joy ride, except getting a panoramic view of the lake it doesn’t offer anything great. You end up spending 2 hours in going and coming back.
The hotel is good to stay during off season as the tarrif goes down. Bathrooms are clean and spacious, Room size is also satisfactory. However, during peak season, when you spend more money, it doesn\'t meet up the expectations.
