Kausani is a beautiful place to visit, the valley view from Kausani is breath taking. also the view of the Himalayan range form KMVN is worth. Its is a very small town with few places to visit... natural beauty is abundant. Thne location of KMVN cottage is at an advantageous location though but the upkeep of the cottage is not up to the mark.

Best Experience: The best thing about the stay at KMVN was the beautiful view of the Himalayas and the sunrise it offers, also the view of the valley down the hill from KMVN is superb.

Worst Experience: The upkeep of the cottage needs to be done properly, the cleanliness is also on the lower side so does the overall look of the place. The rooms are really stuffy for even two adults and a small baby... geysers are old and linens torn. The serving personnels are old enough to serve the guests with any enthusiasm... it needs a lot of improvement. The front office is also not very friendly.

The best place to experience the view of the gigantic mountains around here is Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Anasakti Ashram’, the next best location is KMVN Trishul Resort.
KMVN-Trishul is an ideal place for honeymooners (where was this resort when I got married 20 years ago?). The calm location and the snow peak of Trishul in front, you do not need any other activity to spend a week here. The cottages are in a real sense ‘deluxe’. The entire campus is covered in thick greenery of pine. Every room and every cottage offers a good view of ‘Trishul’ and other mountains, the sunrise and the sunset.
Every sunrise and sunset gives you the satisfaction of traveling to this place 2000 km away from your home. The snow-clad mountains getting lit up at every sunset is an experience, which can’t be narrated in words.
Food and the Services – Quality of food is really good. However, as in every hotel of KMVN, the kumaoni hospitality has tight limitations of time. Also the menu doesn’t have a rich variety. Surprisingly, other private resorts outside KMVN are not different from this.

Best Experience: Every sunrise, every sunset – no words to describe this

Worst Experience: No bad experience, except only the limited room services and the time limitations of the kitchen.

Kausani lies 53km north of Almora at an elevation of around 6,000ft above sea level. It\'s not the height, but the vista that Kausani provides which perhaps draws people for a second dekko -- and the KMVN Tourist rest house is prime property in the scheme of things. It perches at the north-western extremity of Kausani and offers a 180 degree Himalayan spectacle -- almost every peak in the Kumaon mountains, including a few in Garhwal, and beyond. The sight is simply exhilerating and dwarfs other sundries of the resort to ether.

Best Experience: It\'s the perfect hill sojourn -- peaceful, piquant and pious. The resort has cottages, and for just about Rs100, the caretaker can even arrange a bonfire -- sip your favorite sundowner and watch the embers on slowburn with the mighty Himalayan ranges making up the backdrop. Nothing can beat that.

Worst Experience: The food at the resort is not even passable and so one has to really hit the road for up to two kilometers towards the town and pick up grub of choice (that doesn\'t of course include global cuisine).

Famous for the view from the rooms, the guest house is set in a picturesque location. Fantastic to watch sunrise early in the morning from the balconies.

We arrived at this hotel after a long drive from Nainital. The location of the Tourist rest house is perfect with an unobstructed view of the snow range. The balcony provided with our top floor room, is an ideal place to enjoy the nature at its very best. The food was generally alright but the cleanliness of the room as well as the stairs need some attention. Some bathroom fittings were missing. However at such a beautiful place when you are immersed in enjoying the beauties of nature, one can afford to forget the lack of such earthly comfort.

Best Experience: While staying at the TRH we had a chance to visit Gandhi ashram which is not very far away. There I showed some old black & white photographs to the present management. These photographs were taken 35 years back when I visited Kausani and stayed at the Ashram guest house. The present Maharaj appreciated the pictures which were taken with the Maharaj in the year 1976, who is no more.

Worst Experience: As earlier stated, my bathroom shower was missing and the water line was permanently blocked. After lot of hue and cry they arranged to procure new fittings and showed same to us. But a fitter could not be found to fit it, till we left. This must have been subsequently fitted for the benefit of new guests

Overall experience was great. the location, the view from the room, the warmth of the staff , the upkeeep of the premises/ gardens, the hot aloo parathas, the layout of the rest-house, everything was just overwhelming

Best Experience: Absolutely splendid location, overlooking cloudy valley. View of sunrise from room was fantastic, with the early sun rays soaking Trishul peak in golden yellow and other distant peaks in bright orange. As the sun rose higher,it showered it\'s radiating light on the brightly coloured flowers

Worst Experience: none

KAUSANI :
As we reached their by late afternoon, reception and staff was supportive & friendly. Look from back of the dinning area was stunning. As nightfalls u felt sudden change in atmosphere cold takes grip of u. U can see Trishul, Panchachuli ranges from this resort.
As for this spectacular natural display u have to get up early or in the afternoon when the sky is clearer u can see the golden snow melting on the peaks.

Best Experience: Rooms : This KMVN guest house is a nice place to be but prior to make COTTAGE reservation which are ideally placed and nicely located & well kept. The accommodation at this resort was beautiful and very well situated, as u can see the range of mountains from u r doorstep. Food prepared by order so it is advisable to place u r dinner or lunch order well before.

Worst Experience: Food : But be ready to consume LOTS OF POTATOSE while traveling through this beautiful state. Don’t eat non-veg unless u have no option, as we don’t get the desired taste.
Booking : Can be done at any KMVN office ( We had a very bad experience at MUMBAI KMVN office as they book a car for our 15 day tour the driver was a nightmare so keep u r vehicle booking option open for others, as these people don’t have a control over it) but other bookings u can count on them, they are supportive.
