Tourist guest house is a great place to stay. Affordable prices and you can get a discount also. Just if you informed the Manager that you are a student and he'll give you another 10% discount. Kausani is a good place for a peaceful stay and enjoy the nature.
The hotel Trishul is very good to stay with family and the new couple as well. The view of the hotel is best and the food is really tasty, at the hotel you can get free breakfast, they wont charge you. Room services are very good. Hotel staff is very helpful. Inside the hotel there is one shop as well, so you can buy some stuff for shopping. Near Kausani there are so many places you can see, the Apple Orchid, Tea Garden- where you can have a tea, it's a nice aroma when you get tea there. There is a hand made shawl factory as well you must visit there. And most important is, there is very old Shiva temple, must visit there. So guys, it's a perfect destination to visit. The weather is awesome all the year, room tariff is Rs. 1500 till 2700 per night, just go there and enjoy.
Wonderful location right in the heart of nature overlooking the wonderful Himalayas. Very good and tasty food. Good return for money. Complimentary breakfast and bed tea. Very hospitable and helpful staff. Had a very pleasant and memorable stay.
The hotel is located in good location from where you can have full view of Himalayan range of all peaks during sun rise even sitting in the room. The ground floor is very nice to stay where you can enjoy the morning in the midst of beautiful garden under sun rays. The restaurant is very big and well-maintained and the food is very good with plenty of choices. Rooms are well-maintained with all basic amenities. We really enjoyed our full two days' stay.
The hotel was located in convenient place. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. It was with my family for relaxation trip. The room was allocated me was spacious and worthy. AC, TV all other amenities were working nicely but the toilet was not so good, and also there are no activities but in this hotel they were no delay in check-in or check-out. I would suggest the hotel manage clean the toilets and provide us some activates.
It is a government hotel. The hotel room is very clean and well-maintained but old furniture. Everything there was in good condition. We had a Mountain View, sunset and sunrise view from the room. Food provided is good. The cost of room is inclusive breakfast. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. It had a park but no swimming pool. The hotel arranged reasonable sight seeing for the guests. No suggestion.
Nice place to stay. Food was average. Rooms were neat and clean. Mountain View was beautiful. All basic amenities were available like TV, geyser, intercom, double bed, and clean bed-sheet, etc. Services were fully satisfactory. Location was good. Look wise the hotel was nice. Reception was helpful. Garden was available in activities and it was up to the mark. Kausani place is awesome for visit. This hotel is recommendable for tourists.
Kausani is a very beautiful place. Everyone should visit Kausani. I stayed here for 3 days. My room was already booked, but when I reached there I found the room not so attractive and changed it with a cottage-type room. Cottage rooms are very nice. Cottages are made in a secluded place in up hill area and are surrounded with forest. Rooms give a nice view of Nanda Devi. Food arrangement was very nice. Staff is very cooperative and helpful. All time service is available. Location is very lonely. There is nothing more than an ATM. Appearance is very good looking. Booking front office and reception is nice. Food is of very good quality. There is no outdoor activity available. My stay was very comfortable. Hotel is perfectly recommendable.
Rooms was not good here but view was pleasant from room windows. It was raining the night I arrived in this hotel. The rooms were leaking and it was a really bad condition. Maintenance is also not good. Service is okay. It is quite responsive. Food is also tasty here. There was a separate dining hall there. I travelled here by my own car. Parking facility is available here. Location is good. It is not so good looking hotel. Reception is fair. There is no outdoor activity available. It is a budge hotel. It is a recommendable hotel but only if necessary improvements are made at their maintenance level.
When I traveled Kausani then I stayed KMVN. Location and appearance were best. I went there with my friends and stayed there for one day. I booked three rooms there. I traveled by car. I took my food at the hotel. Food was delicious. Veg and non-veg food was served at the hotel. Rooms were tidy with all basic facilities as hot water, geyser, TV, etc. Rooms were fine. Staff behavior was very good. I liked this hotel very much. Services were excellent. Hotel is definitely recommendable. Hotel is value for money paid. Kausani is a wonderful place for travelers.

Went with family for spending some time at Kausani. During 1st Week of December 2013, by our car. Took around 12 hrs for the travel with stop for lunch & tea. Road from Delhi to Rampur was very good. Rampur to Rudrapur very very bad and from Rudrapur onwards it was fine except some very small patches of road which got affected due to flow of water. Amenities - Did online booking in advance- no hassles, took printout and produced in the Reception. They also had intimation about the booking. Linens are changed on alternate days. 2 small soap bars provided. Bath towels, Almirahs with hangars, plastic chairs for sitting in balcony etc are provided.Situation of property - slightly away from the main town - approx.2 kms. The views are excellent - situated in a place with unobstructed views of the Trishul- Nanda Devi range. The room had TV with Tata Sky DTH with approx.60 channels. 24 hrs hot water was provided by the geyser. Services - Very courteous staff, helpful, and cooperative. Since our rate was inclusive of breakfast and bed tea, we were provided with sufficient quantities. Food ordered were also of very good quality. There were some restrictions in timings - 8 to 1030 for breakfast, 12-3 for lunch, and 730 to 09pm for dinner. Some dishes were not available as some of the vegetables were not produced during this time. Generally, the quantity and quality were very good. Kitchen staff require advance order for preparation of fresh food. Access to nearby places - Since the main town is away, a vehicle will be better. If need be, they arrange for a cab to take you to nearby places according to need and charge accordingly. No credit cards pls.. Only cash is to be paid for the cab as well as for settling with KMVN. Whoever wishes to go to Kausani - Have sufficient cash with you for settling bills, car hire charges etc. ATM - There is a SBI Branch in the main road - Did not see any other ATMs in Kausani. There are ATMs at Someshwar (approx.12 kms before) Baijnath, Garud, Bageshwar and on the way from Kathhodam till Someshwar.Activities - Nearby spots are Anasakthi Ashram (open all days), Pant Museum (closed on Mondays) and Baijnath -Bageshwar-Tea Factory (closed from Nov to March), Shawls from Woollen factory Rudhradhari Water falls - Situated approx.10 kms away from Kausani, persons can trek for approx.3 kms to see this quiet place and enjoy nature and tranquility - Guides are strongly recommended. (rates 100-200) Chances of getting lost are there without guides. Some markings are there on the way but in many places, there are no marks. Its an easy trek with not much steep climbs. small climbs are there but its not tough. There are other treks of about 7 kms and 12kms from the base of Rudhradhari place - but those are tough and for the 12 km trek people advise to stay for the night and return later. Take water with you in case of emergency. A small river will accompany you all the way to Rudhradhari. Apart from sightseeing activities, not much to do except walks, watch TV or have view of the mountain range - Sunrise & Sunset are very much worth watching. The different colors during sunrise or sunset cant be seen in cities. There are different shades of pink, orange etc. Since we stayed for only 4 days we could not go to other places like Munsiyari etc. That might require a longer holiday plans. While coming back to Delhi, we came via a different route through Kaladhungi, Kashipur skipping Rampur and joining in Moradabad, but in this route road constructions are going on and hence some semi paved roads were encountered which increased the time of travel. Distance from - Delhi - approx. 400 kms (+/- 20 km for travelling from diff. parts of city) via Rampur, Rudrapur, kathgodam, Bhimtaal, Almora byepass.Distance via Nainital Kaldhungi, Bazpur, Kashipur, route - approx. 420kms .Both routes contain approx.150kms of hill driving to Kausani. Please use your horns liberally at curves, turns etc as some local transport drivers tend to cut in opp. lane. Roads are very good in Uttarakhand - broad enough for two buses but people have tendency to hasten their trips and cut in the opposite lane. After Almora, the traffic thins out to a very large extent and one encounters nil to very little traffic to Kausani. Leave early from Delhi to reach Kausani before Sunset. Overall if one wishes to relax and have a peaceful time with only bird sounds and quietness, one can visit this place.
The best place to experience the view of the gigantic mountains around here is Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Anasakti Ashram’, the next best location is KMVN Trishul Resort. KMVN-Trishul is an ideal place for honeymooners (where was this resort when I got married 20 years ago?). The calm location and the snow peak of Trishul in front, you do not need any other activity to spend a week here. The cottages are in a real sense ‘deluxe’. The entire campus is covered in thick greenery of pine. Every room and every cottage offers a good view of ‘Trishul’ and other mountains, the sunrise and the sunset. Every sunrise and sunset gives you the satisfaction of traveling to this place 2000 km away from your home. The snow-clad mountains getting lit up at every sunset is an experience, which can’t be narrated in words. Food and the Services – Quality of food is really good. However, as in every hotel of KMVN, the kumaoni hospitality has tight limitations of time. Also the menu doesn’t have a rich variety. Surprisingly, other private resorts outside KMVN are not different from this.
Location of the hotel was awesome. Hotel staff was very much helpful. best place to enjoy the nature.
Kausani is a beautiful place to visit, the valley view from Kausani is breath taking. also the view of the Himalayan range form KMVN is worth. Its is a very small town with few places to visit... natural beauty is abundant. Thne location of KMVN cottage is at an advantageous location though but the upkeep of the cottage is not up to the mark.
I visited this place in September and lucky that my friend suggested this place. The rest house of KMVN is situated in an ideal place, from where we can have a marvelous view of our prestigious Himalayas. The room where we stay was neat and tidy, spacious with two double beds and a clean washroom. This is situated on good location. This is not very luxurious but good to stay. They provided us the morning bed tea and breakfast. They served us many varieties in breakfast including omelette, oat, cornflakes, puri-aloo and in beverages, they served us milk, coffee and tea. Overall, the food was healthy as well as delicious.
