Ranked 10 of 10 hotels in Kabini
The hotel is situated on the border of Karnataka and Kerala in midst of the Forest. We had stayed during the Diwali days. There was no special program during diwali which should have been organised by the staff of the resort. The resort is has a swimming pool which is clean and good. There are activities like cycling, badminton , other outdoor and indoor sports. The room for indoor sports is not clean and is a place for insects and mosquitoes. The rooms are big with a balcony but the room and the linens were not cleaned. On the other hand the staff was good and gave a good service. For the food, there was no variety of food daily and as we had a stayed on diwali day there was no special food for the day. But on requesting them they arranged for a sweet. We had gone for a Jungle safari and Manjunath from the resort had accompanied us. He was so knowledgeable and experienced that we had fun watching animals though he tried a lot to hunt a tiger but unfortunately we couldn't. Overall a good resort to stay and the staff was very courteous and helpful.
Located bang at the Karnataka-Kerala border at Nagarahole Wildlife Sanctuary, Kabini Springs Resort is a pleasant surprise. Just about 100 kms from Mysore and about 250 kms from Bangalore, the drive to the resort is amazing and very peaceful. The roads are beautiful (except for the final 30 kms in the sanctuary which has way too much road humps) and the no. of wildlife sightings we had on the way to the Resort was breathtaking. Beautifully landscaped and immaculately maintained, this new resort doesn't pinch your pockets. We are surprised by how spacious the room is and the view of the Kabini river flowing right in the backyard is simply stunning. Pro's: Almost everything about this resort. It's proximity to the Nagarahole National Park, the river Kabini and the distance from Bangalore. Spacious Room: All rooms here are extremely spacious and especially the one we were in it is grand. The room had almost all facilities one would hope for in a resort of this kind. Doesn't matter what room one chooses, they are almost the same in terms of quality & luxury. All rooms in this resort are excellent. All rooms are spacious, with a small sit-out that faces the kabini river. The bathrooms are simple and adequate. All rooms come with mini-bar, safe-deposit lockers, coffee / tea maker. Staff: A special mention has to be made of the staff and especially of Mr. Ranganath, the Manager. Extremely friendly, they fulfilled our every beck & call & left no room for complaint. Outdoor: The outdoor is very well maintained and structured. It doesn't give the impression that the resort is located on actually a quite small area. The swimming pool is big & the kids play area is more than adequate. Food: We had wonderful food, whether it be lunch, dinner or breakfast. Our every request was taken care of & we didn't have any reason to complain. Bar: The bar stocks almost all major brands & they were considerate enough to send the drinks to our room when we requested. Nagarahole Wildlife Safari: The safari's quite close by & the resort is considerate enough to take us on an early morning safari. This is a must do activity at Kabini. We saw enough wildlife to come back happily. Con's: No access to the river: While we understood the concerns & the reason provided by the resort, it is a dampener that we couldn't wade into the river Kabini that flowed bang behind the resort. It would have been wonderful to have played in the fresh water. Liquor shop outside: While this shouldn't be a major irritant, the presence of a liquor shop outside (attached to the resort) the resort makes it a deterrent for family walks outside the resort in the evenings. We got a few stares & unwanted comments from the locals when we went out for a casual walk towards the river. This resort is the perfect place to be for the weekend. It doesn't pinch your pocket & it's got something for everybody.
We went on a family tour in May 2016. We had one knight 2 day stay at this excellent resort. A beautiful location surrounded by greenery and have very nice view on all four sides.
