Hotel Review of Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge
Comments: We chose the Kabini River Lodge for our vacation this time after a great deal of planning and debating. Although we were clear in our minds that we wanted to go for a wild life vacation, but given a great deal of choices available in India, making the final choice was difficult. Some of the parameters that clinched the deal for Kabini was the pleasant weather and proximity to Bangalore which would allow us to visit our relatives also.
It was peak summer when we arrived at Kabini but were pleasantly surprised to find that the resort was cooler than the surroundings with considerable greenery within the premises. The staff at the reception was down to earth but efficient at the same time. Check-in hardly took any time and they also gave us a very clear idea of the complete plan for our entire duration of stay. Despite planning our vacation well in advance we had only managed to get reservations for tents and hence were a bit apprehensive about the comfort of our stay. But one look at the tents made all our anxiety vanish as they seemed well maintained and very comfortable.
The food was excellent and designed to cater to the needs of young and old alike. Some dishes (like the French Fries, Noodles etc) were very popular among the younger lot. The choice of dishes was awesome and the best part was the bunch of tasty ‘Elaichi’ bananas hung near the exit of the ‘Gol Ghar’ which were constantly under attacks by the monkeys.
The Safaris were a great experience with a variety of wild life available to see. We were lucky enough to sight a beautiful leopard and unlike other leopard sightings this one lasted for nearly 4-5 minutes. The guides were quite knowledgeable and well connected with each other for any sightings of the day. Apart from the wildlife the entire forest atmosphere was great. The weather used to suddenly turn cold after 6 PM which caught us unawares but we were ready for this from the next day onwards.
There was variety of activities available such as the Coracle ride, Elephant ride, River cruise. Even after the Safari, there was never a dull moment in the resort for the kids with the tree houses and the suspended tires etc to spend their energy. The wildlife movies shown in the evenings gave us a very good idea about the Nagarhole forests.
I would also like to point out the highly efficient and supportive staff at the resort. Any request, simple or outrageous, was taken care with a smile. For me, this was the best part of my vacation. It only highlights the simplicity and professionalism of the resort and the staff. The price tag which looked a bit on the higher side at the time of reservation suddenly seemed like value for money.
In all a very highly recommended family vacation destination.
Best Experience: The list is endless - the location, the service, the weather, the food were all memorable. Above all - the leopard sighting...
Worst Experience: Very Few. Every moment spent was enjoyable...

Hotel Review of Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge
Jungle Lodges Kabini is the best resort I have ever stayed, the real Indian style, extremely good service. It is a best place to be away from corporate world If you go for 2 nights package, 2nd day evening boat ride is slightly boring since the duration they take is very long, especially if you are carrying the small children. Guides have basic knowldge, they can be trained better...

Hotel Review of Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge
Well this was one hell of a holiday that we had last month. The road from Blore to Mysore is good for clipping away after you cross the city where it is nasty. ONce you cross Mysore & head for this resort, I gave the wheels to my wife to drive & enjoyed the serenity. Cool drive & a great escape....

Hotel Review of Jungle Lodges Kabini River Lodge
When my pal told me about these series of wildlife sanctuaries in Karnataka, I was slightly sceptical of the feasibility of going to them with a family, specially a 4-year old kid. This scepticism was given the usually dismal facilities and condition of anything that the country provides today in the garb of naturist vacations... However, I Googled some arbit names, and came up with this website www.junglelodges.com. It looks like a normal resort site, but at a closer glance...

A great place to weekend getaway. Calm and expanse of water body gives a tremendous boost to one's psyche after hectic office workweeks. Jumping on the large nets along with monkeys is a worthwhile experience and sometimes quite 'excercising' one too!...

Resort per se is nice but we had got the tents which were awful considering the stiff price that u pay for them.Tents were very ordinary.Food was good and service too was nice. But the wildlife tours were disappointing as the only wildlife that we got to see were Deers,bufaloes...could not sight the tiger...
