This was my second, 1 day stay at the resort. It has got a great location, right next to the water body. They have a good landscaping with a big pool, lots of open spaces and greenery around. However, the rooms and service were not at par. I check-in early and they were kind enough to give me an early check-in room. The room was pretty old and seemed damp. Pretty minimal amenities were provided in the room. The towels, although were clean, seemed old. When I ordered for tea bags or room service, the food arrived after more than 50 mins. When I called to check, they said that they had a few other orders that they want to combine before sending out. The restaurant on the second floor had a good fare on the menu, but claimed that they did not serve some of those. Why put it on the menu then? We ordered chicken stew and was disappointed to get smocked chicken. Breakfast spread was also minimal. I asked for coffee in a to-go cup and they handed me a paper cup. Overall, I would recommend to look for alternatives.
The hotel was located conveniently and I did not find any difficulties. The appearance of the hotel was good and very well maintained. The staff were good in services and helpful. The room given to me was good with all the required amenities in good working condition and also there was no difficult during sign in and sign out process. The hotel was worth for the money.

Top Reviews of The Raviz Resort and Spa
We,my wife and I, stayed in Kadavu Resorts, for 3 nights from 3rd to 6th Novmber 2010. Our stay was quite an enjoyable one. We chose to visit Kadavu Resorts during this Diwali festival days to avoid the noise and atmosphoric pollution in Bangalore where we live. We were glad this was very much achieved at this Resort. We celebrated Diwali, sans the noise and pollution, with better Dinner arranged at the Resort. The accommodation was very comfortable and the room overlooking the River Chaliar was very picturesque. It was quite invigorating to wake up to the beautiful view of the river and the coconutgrove across. The service here in as departments were excellant and most courteous. Undoutedly our stay at Kadavu Resort was the most memorable, so far.
The charm of Kadavu Resort is in its beautiful setting and architecture. As you drive up the steep road towards the reception, it gives the impression of an old Kerala palace – large, white walls, sloping tiled roofs, and wooden pillars and rafters. From the entrance lobby, the architecture of the inner courtyard along which the rooms are located is even more charming, with a large water feature reminiscent of an old temple pond, standing centre stage. The soothing sound of the fountains in the pond, the tropical greenery washed a brighter shade of green by the monsoon, the glimpses of the river through the coconut palms and the cool blue water in the clover shaped swimming pool, all add to the relaxing ambience. The rooms are pleasantly modern, with standard luxuries like cable TV, mini bar, shower cubicle, and hair dryer. There is also a touch of local Malabar crafts in the wooden furniture. Most rooms have a large terrace leading off it that overlooks the Chaliyar River. There are also cottages, which are situated closer to the river, but further away from the lobby and restaurants. There are three restaurants in the resort, besides the 24-hour room service. However, since it was off-season, only one was operational – Ottupura the multi cuisine restaurant. Adjoining it is a cocktail lounge overlooking the river. The food, overall, although not exceptional is good and you cannot go wrong if you order the local Malabar delicacies. In terms of recreation, there is an ayurvedic centre, swimming and indoor games like carom and table tennis, a gym, a children’s play area and on some evenings, cultural shows are held in the open-air amphitheatre set in the centre of the resort. We were lucky to see a kalaripayatu performance one evening, performed by a local troupe. Boating, fishing and sightseeing trips can be arranged to nearby tourist attractions. The highlight of our trip was a boat cruise with lunch on the Chaliyar River in a two-bedroom kettuvallam or houseboat. Travelling on a houseboat in Kerala is overdone, but the experience at Kadavu is to be cherished. This is because unlike other parts of Kerala where the backwaters are overcrowded with houseboats, in these parts, the resort has the only houseboat, which means that you have the entire river to yourself. The scenery is also much greener as the banks of the river are largely free from construction. Go to Kadavu for a taste of the relatively unspoilt North Kerala or just a relaxing weekend away from the city.
We were forced to stay in Calicut for one night on our way back from Wayanad due to bad flight timings. However, after seeing the property we decided to stay for 2 nights instead! We chose the cottage room, thinking that it would be a good room for 2 right in front of the backwater. However, the room is really small and there is no view of the backwater as it is covered by trees. We were upgraded to the suite room and that was just perfect. The views, the scenery, the room! I took a massage every day. The consulting doctor - Neerja - is a lovely lady, professional and precise. She went out of her way to make us comfortable and address our issues. The setting of the massage centre is brilliant and no matter how much I write about it the words won't be enough. Even the staff was just perfect. The downside of this hotel is the food. Considering its the Welcome group we did expect better food. Even the tomato soup was just bad. The hotel does have a houseboat one can book and that experience is really worth it!
Clearly one of the best hotels I have stayed in my life. Stayed here for a day on a business trip. The property is located right next to backwaters. The rooms are very comfortable, neat and with excellent interiors. The restaurants provides finger licking local cuisines (vegetable stew with appams). The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The hotel also offers a boat ride in the backwaters, which is an hour long. The boat ride is a definite must do things. The hotel is 15 kms from the Airport which is good enough.
We were at Kadavu Resort, Kozikode alongside the backwaters of North Kerala on the banks of River Chaliyar built with its unique style of architecture a combination of Mappila & Hindu culture in design and architecture. The reosrt in terms of location os most ideally suited being just 30/35 minutes from Kozikode airport and at such a beautiful location one will love to spend his whole life living at. The resort place has its charm of its own in terms of look, location, view as well as structural design. Though I thought proper landscaping would have helped it better in provding view from each floor. The resort property is well maintained and neat and clean with well maintained by gardens. The room i was residing in was Superior River view, was large in size had a view of river, island greenery and bridge passing by. The experience was though not so good as on checkin in we noticed that the room is not properly made-up with no hand towels, drinking water, glasses, chairs in the balcony so on and so forth.Such small things are irritants and spoils the image of the Resort has created on entering the beautiful location. During our stay of 2 days we noticed not much of an improvement in terms of the service & housekeeping which on the whole was remained below average. The resort has ideal location but could have good walking trails well directed so that one can enjoy the beauty of the scenery around. Also some benches could be fixed around the banks for a quite sit out. The service right from the reception to restaurant to house keeping was below average and is a big minus in my view for a Resort so ideally located. Worst was the attitude of the staff whom I noticed to be not properly guided/trained to provide warma and hospitable service to the guests. I wonder whether this attitude would earn name for the reort in the long run which is so wondrefully located. The cleaniness in the room was also below average. The food laid out in the buffet was pretty much average but food in ala carte menu which i opted for after a day was excellent. On the whole I would say that the Resort having all its advantages in terms of location, close proximity to city/airport, wonderful surroundings, beautiful design is likely to loose its name if they continue to provide the kind of service provide as on date. I find no other word than Pathetic for the service. As such I wonder whether the management is aware of such a mess and has any interest in improving upon. I honestly feel that they should do something about it as if it improves, Resort is a wonderful place to stay at and could be one of the best resorts. Based on my expereince though I would no recommend this Resort to any one.
