The hotel has just moved me by it's overall excellent performance. The staff is so nice, the food is also so nice and the beauty outside the hotel is tempting. The hotel is very well-located and the destination is also awesome. Whole hotel is very well cleaned and the people are nice. Only the activities is not up to the mark of other facilities.

The hotel is conveniently located near to the city area. The appearance of the hotel from the outside as well as from the inside is good. The staff is friendly, helpful and quick and they give good services to the guests. The rooms are spacious, neat and well-maintained and all the amenities and the bed linen provided in them are in good working condition. The hotel has food facilities for the guests. The check-in and check-out is on time. Overall, it is a good hotel and good value for the money paid and recommendable to others people who wish to visit that place.

The experience with Kadmat Beach Resort and it is awesome. The location of the resort is purely natural and could attract anyone. The blue water lagoon is encircling the invaluable organisms in the sea. The colorful corals, coral habitats are very awesome and besides this the resort staff service, the food is truly appreciable.

No one should ever dream to be here, journey is not safe, 5 hrs by ordinary boat in rough sea. Nothing to eat on the island. They give you limited food which is absolutely meagre. We ate beet root and carrot vegetable for 2 days. We got strangled due to rough weather and nobody to help us out. Have to arrange for helicopter rescue paying from our own pockets. Please be cautious. They promise you speed boat drive but it is never there. It is hell, please do not ever think of visiting.

It was a government property. When I traveled to Agatti then I stayed Kadmat Beach Resort. Location was best. Look wise, it was okay. Staff behavior was helpful and friendly. Rooms were neat and clean. Food was delicious. Hospitality was perfect. Whatever we ordered, we got that immediately and staff was excellent. Booking and front office service were perfect. Agatti is a best as tourist destination. I went there in the month of April. It was couple stay. It was a romantic trip.

The best ever. i was on honeymoon with my wife and the place was simply fabulous. pristine clean beaches...blue see with visibility as far as the eyes can see inside water.... corals....fishes....sea turtles...dolphins...baby whale..u name it we saw it...

Best Experience: snorkelling, scuba, kayaking...hanging out in the private beach... FOOD.....

Worst Experience: the boat journey to kadmat from agatti takes around4.5-5 hour depending on water current. this is in d middle of arabian see...deep sea..... journey was a lil tiresome.. but we had dolphins jumping around..go to see a baby whales..lots of sea turtles(huge ones) and the boat staff went out of their way to make us comfortable so ....cant say it was the worst experience but i didnt have anything else to qoute.. oh yeah no range except for bsnl on the islands!!!

me and my girlfriend have just returned from a trip to Lakshadweep, where we stayed at Kadmat. In short, DON\'T STAY AT KADMAT BEACH RESORT!
We booked the stay via a travel agent how booked through SPORTS (Lakshadweep Tourism). We flew in and out of from Agatti Island. The first night we stayed at a “home stay” in the middle of Agatti Island (so no beach at the place). The rooms was OK, the food was poor and the location dreadful (you want to see the sea when you stay at a bounty island).
The following day we where transported to Kadmat Island by boat. The trip took 5 hours (3,5 hours actual sailing + delays + drive to the jetty etc).

We had booked an NON-AC room. This is located 2km away the actual resort in horrible huts at a beach where you can’t swim. You have to bus to the main resort to swim, eat, etc etc. So DON’T BOOK THE NON-AC ROOMS!

The actual Kadmat Island Beach Resort has the greatest location - at the tip of Kadmat Island, with a beach to each side and the very tip of the island! Beautiful! However, the resort is \'government run\' with all the worst effects of this; the place is extremely mismanaged with a lot of staff doing almost nothing and giving poor service!

The huts are fair standard, but poorly cleaned with old furniture. And there is no hot water in the shower.

All dining is included in the stay (Breakfast, lunch and dinner, all indian), and the quality is fair. But there is no alternative i.e. no other restaurants, so if you get hungry between the meals or if you don\'t like the food, then THOUGH LUCK.

All servings is inside in a in freezing AC room, and not outside next to the beautiful beach where it should. This might be because the local policeman and politician are eating at the resort at-least for one meal every day. The staff is more concerned to service them than the guests!

I never stayed at a place with a HIGHER potential and a LOWER standard!

Best Experience: The local dive center (which is not government run) is great. Fair prices, great diving and good dive masters!

Worst Experience: Seeing how great the place could have been, and how poor it actual was!!!

Trip to Lakshadweep - Kadmat Island was our Honeymoon Trip (Really thank for my wife for suggesting and insisting the place).

Kadmat Island Resort is the best option and perfect value for money ... Lakshadweep package provided by SPORTS.

About the Resort
Resort is at the southern end of the Kadmat island which about 10 kms long and average wide of 0.5 km (Looks like straight line from top).
Resort provides A/C and non A/C accomodation @ INR 4000/- & INR 3000/- per night per couple. Room was spacious with attached bathroom. Rating would be average. They have decent bedding and furniture but good enough to crash
after a good day-long water sport activities.
Room Service is good. The resort also has a modern gym with table-tennis,
Badminton court, threadmills, weights, so on.

(We assumed the accomodation at Kadmat would be horrible. So we booked only 3 days in Kadmat and final honeymoon day in Agatti island. But Agatti resort was sheer waste of Rs 10,000/- We could have stayed for 2 more days at Kadmat instead)

Best part of Kadmat package is that following water sport activities are included (free cost with the accomodation)
- Kayaking
- Guided Snorkelling
- Snorkelling Kit
- Glass Bottom Boat Trip
- Local Kadmat island SightSeeing
- Local Folk Dancing Night

Agatti charges you for anything and everything.

Staff & Locals
Staff at Kadmat island resort are very cheerful, friendly. Local language is Malayalam. But they speak good English and Hindi.
We had excellent snorkelling guide (Mr. Ali - Lakshadweep national level swimmer), who took us into some deep lagoons and showed some amazing aquatic life around the coral reefs. (We both are no swimmers)

Staff were really helpful and flexible. Just for us, they rescheduled the folk dancing and late night barbecue by 1 day advance, as we were leaving the next day.

Local sightseeing trip was also great. Trip involves visiting local factories (coconut powder and coir making small scale industry) and a drive to the northern tip of the island.

Food & Drink
Well, bad news for drinking folks.... alcohol is strictly prohibited in the island (Island has almost 100% Muslim population. Drink is allowed only at Bangaram).
You can try some luck and get some early morning toddy (coconut liquor). Trust us it tastes amazing and really refreshing.

You need to step out into the island early in the morning and look out for toddy-maker climbing some coconut tree.

Food served at the resort is average. (compared to Agatti). But, its not really bad. Best thing, I liked was a good complete breakfast.
Do request for spicy local fish curry with rice cooked with coconut milk. (It\'s a really firework. Do have a running water tap next to you).

Sightseeing & Activities
Fresh beautiful virgin island with brillant bright blue-green sea. Excellent Sunset/Sunrise. (For first two days, we were just 3 couples at the resort.) You have a lot of foreign tourists (esp. sea divers) visiting the island.

You walk around the village and enjoy the island life.

Must to do is Snorkelling. It is different world out there. Find colorful fishes like clown fish, parrot, surgeon fish, butterfly around the coral reef.
Unfortunately, most of corals were bleached by the El Nino effect. But there were few fresh corals growing out on the dead reefs.
If you are lucky, you might catch up with some turtles/sting ray.

Scuba-Diving - it is not part of SPORTS package. It is managed by a separate sea-diving organization called Laccadives. We did try an introductory dive for about 20-25 mins. It was a fanastatic experience. Introductory Dive is about INR 1200 per person.

An experience instructor accompanies you and manages all the SCUBA controls and tows you around the lagoon. The experience to be completely submerged under water is excellent. Quite different from snorkelling.

One can also enrol into certification diving course provided by Laccadives.

Deep-Sea Fishing- One can rent a boat for about INR 3000/- for some deep sea fishing. (We did not try fishing.)

How to reach Kadmat
We took IA flight from Kochi (you have kingfisher flight too) till Agatti island and paid SPORTS for Speed-boat transfer till Kadmat island. Speed Boat trip is about 2 hrs between the two islands.

Alternate mode till Agatti from Kochi would be a ship (24 hrs journey... folks with sea-sickness please avoid. Guests at kadmat who took the ship gave some bad review about the entire endless journey)

SPORTS (Society for Promotion of Nature Tourism & Sports)
manages all the booking
Visit http://www.lakshadweeptourism.com for more details

Best Experience: - Beautiful clean Shores with bright green blue waters
- Color Aquatic life
- Excellent & Friendly Staff
- Eco-friend resort
- Peaceful surrounding (no Commerialization)
- Best for Honeymooner

Worst Experience: Really difficult to say
- Probably 2 hr Speed Boat travel (But that was better than 24 hr ship journey)
- Food was average. (Not really bad though. )
- Room can be made a bit more comfortable. (But really it was more than the worth for the money we paid.)

Hi all,
I travelled to Kadmat in the Marine Wealth Awareness package. On the whole this was my best vacation. However the journey from Cochin to Kadmat and back by ship is nightmarish. There was only sitting A/C accomodation on a my small ship (called M.V Minicoy) and I got sea sick. I spent 3 nights on the island in a Non-A/C cottage. The rooms are basic but very clean. The people at the resort treat you like family, are very nice and try thier best to make you feel special. The beaches are straight out of a picture postcard. Kayaking, scuba diving, banana boat riding, water skeing and snorking were the activities available. There was no wind for para-sailing. The water is transparent, beaches have white sand and are very clean unlike anywhenre in mainland India. The lagoon and the sea have vibrant shades of blue. On the whole, a good vacation, it was \'value for money\'. The ratings I have given are keeping in mind the money I paid for the package. (So if I give 7 for overall service at Kadmat resort and say 7 for Taj Palace, the 2 ratings cannot be compared beacuse I don\'t pay the same amount of money at both the places, hope this makes sense)

Best Experience: People at the resort treat you like family.
