"Great location, well maintained rooms and excellen..."

Great location, well maintained rooms and excellent service. I just read about this place and walked in without a reservation. It was not holiday season in Kannur, but the resort did not compromise on anything due to lack of bookings. Simply put everything that was promised during check-in was delivered. Overall an ideal location to relax and we ended up staying there for six enjoying days which turned out to be good value for money

"Had a fantastic weekend at the resort"

6.4/7
Posted 24 Sep, 2015

Right in front of our nose & yet we hadn't known about this fabulous place for a quiet holidaying, in terms of value for money this out beats almost every other place we had been across India -both while in service & after retirement. In nearby locations. Our experience: 1. Location - easy to reach from Kannur. But hardly known even in Kannur itself! May be that is why the place is so clean and calm! 2. Picturesque location with its Kerala typical pleasing architecture that blends well with the local background. 3. Staff service : pleasant and smiling, they made us feel that they made us feel like serving their own grandparents! 4. Room : comfortable and cosy but not lavish. -maintained well. Prompt room service, in spite of the distances for some cottages from the central area. Your main usp : elder friendly/ handicapped suitable rooms. 5. Food : vegetarian food is good but not a patch on non-veg/sea food -we were they serve here, we were told. (vegetarians suffer in this aspect all over the world!) 6. Long wait : better staff utilisation, perhaps, rather than adding new ones. Suggestions for improvement : 1. Counter staff/ room service staff needs some sophistication & extra training. Why not give the supervisors/select staff some exposure to big cities. Give all facilities provided - I missed out on the availability of cycles for free rides! 2. Much better marketing promotions recommended - for this truly amazing, enjoyable place : from sign boards/ hoardings to imaginative promotion campaigns on a war footing.

"Perfect family getaway"

6.2/7
Posted 6 Jan, 2016

The resort is situated about 10 km from Kannur and is maintained well. The rooms are good and clean. The language might be one of the only problems since a majority of the employees do not speak English or Hindi. The service was a bit slow, but they went out of their way to help out with the food. The food is excellent and fish curry with boiled rice is a must have here. For the vegetarians, Paneer Butter Masala is a good option. The swimming pool and facilities are well maintained. The rooms overlook the river which could be kept cleaner. The water sports are fun and at quite a decent cost. All in all, a perfect family getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of daily traffic. Truly enjoyed ourselves... Stayed April 2012, travelled with family

"Preferable place to stay in but bit far from city"

6.1/7
Posted 16 Sep, 2016

I had visited Kairali Heritage in Kannur with family in May 2016. Appearance of the hotel looked good with good front office service and garden and parking facility was available. Location of the hotel was far from city with transportation also far away. Rooms were spacious, neat and clean with all amenities in good working condition. Service of staff was satisfactory with no delay in check in or checkout. The food provided was also good with good quality and quantity. A good place for office conference as well as family stays with all activities available. Overall satisfactory location with good service of staff and good food.

"A nice place to stay in Kannur"

6.1/7
Posted 18 Feb, 2016

I had heard a lot about Kairali Heritage, Kattampally, Kannur, Kerala. So decided to try it out. Though I could stay at the resort just for one day, it was a different experience and enjoyed thoroughly. Located about 12 kilometres from Kannur town, kairali heritage is located in a serene location. What I liked the most was the ambience. On 2 sides of the resort flows the river. We felt we were in a different world, away from the hustle bustle of the town. We were very warmly welcomed by the front office/reception staff. The room was very neat and spacious. Each room there has a good balcony as well, sitting where you can have a view of the flowing river. The restaurant offers excellent food - chinese, continental and indian dishes. Food was superb and the charges were quite reasonable. The resort has all the facilities like gym, swimming pool, wi-fi, etc. But because of shortage of time, we really could not try out the gym or the swimming pool. But the wifi was working fine inside the room. But the room service was not to our expectation. There was delay on the part of the hotel staff to attend to our calls and they took a bit too long to serve the morning coffee. The wait was a bit too long - 30 minutes. The tariff was also quite reasonable and it's worth the money you spend. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at kairali heritage and I very much look forward to another stay there before long - this time for a longer period.
