The hotel is nice, especially the location. The view from the room window was really nice. The hospitality was also very good. The hotel is very clean and the service was nice. They also provide good guidance about the local trips
As we know the food is very important for travellers as they want home like food. Kalash is the place where you got your home like lodging and food at a affordable price without any hurdles. The location is perfect as I went there just a few days ago. The manager and staff were very cooperative.
The position and the first welcome address is good. Introduced by an unknown visitor whom we befriended in Darjeeling Mall, we as team of two families- comprising of 2 senior male and 2 female, set foot on 'Hotel Kalash' in Kalimpong. Frankly, the expectation is not mooted entirely! It is true that we opted for the cheaper rooms, but felt, more care is needed to upkeep the hotel reputation. The electrical fittings inside the rooms, bathroom need to be take care. Housekeeping services need to be upgraded. The basement restaurant is good but a little expensive. The staff are cordial. Overall, we may say, it is just average hotel.
The hotel is easy to locate as it is just near the motor stand. The rooms are clean and spacious, the room services are fine. The rent is also affordable. The restaurant is situated in the building itself. The momos of this hotel are delicious. The soup was also fantastic. Everyone should try their momos. You can also visit local market at the same time as it is situated right in the heart of the town. I found this hotel wonderful.
We booked 2 Deluxe D/B for 30th September, 2014 for one night. The hotel is on a busy main road, easy to reach, but those who love to stay away from the busy city life they will not enjoy the location much. Though the rooms on the other side of the road offers a great nature and mountain view. The service and food facility are the worst. To find out any person, at the time of your need is very problematic. The veg restaurant at the basement is too costly to afford. A cup of tea costs Rs. 15/-, from which you can understand to costing. Better you can opt for Boudir Hotel, just 2 minutes away from this hotel. The rooms are needed a better maintenance.
