Wow! stayed here Sept. 2013. what a fantastic place!! The rooms, with powerful fan and AC, are very spacious and clean with large beds, comfortable mattresses and pillows and new and freshly laundered sheets. The en-suite bathrooms have hot water showers, large sinks and western or Indian style toilet, your choice. The rooms are well equipped with fast WiFi connection, multi channel TV, telephone, lockable strong safety cupboard for your valuables - bring your own padlock. Large bolt on door with spy hole and for extra feeling of safety there is CCTV in all public areas and 24 hour front desk managers. Very Safe for everyone, all ages including older women/men or women travelling alone. There is a fully operational elevator/lift to all floors and to the rooftop restaurant, so it is perfect for disabled or older people, and very safe for children. The restaurant has a fabulous view of the fort and city beyond. The food is excellent with a large variety of North and South Indian dishes, and good choice of western food also, with 4 cooks/chefs. All vegetables and fruit are bought fresh daily and washed in boiled water. Ice is available made with bottled water. All soft drinks and beer are served very cold. The service is fast and the staff always get the order right. They will make your food spicy or non-spicy, as you wish. The rooftop restaurant also has a wide variety of plants and flowers growing, which are very well looked after, giving a fresh garden feel, and there is a covered area to provide shade in the daytime. At night there is a cool gentle breeze and fresh clean air. The owners and staff are very friendly, attentive and speak good English. The hotel is set one street back from the main road, so is quiet and peaceful but only a short walking distance to local shops. And for 50 rupees you can take a rickshaw ride to the famous sights, shops and banks, or take a relaxing massage or a spa/swim nearby. The hotel is only 25 mins from the airport, (pre-paid taxi is 400 Rupees/£4/$6) and is 1 Km from bus and train station. I can totally recommend this hotel, great accommodation, food and service at a very low price. Everything can be arranged for you, nothing is too much trouble, I will always stay here when I visit Jaipur, my experience was made wonderfully pleasant, easy and memorable, my face was aching from smiling and laughing! 5***** accommodation for the budget traveller. Thank-you from my heart. THANK-YOU to the owners, cooks, waiters and staff of Hotel Kaylan. I look forward to coming back to stay here again next year :) Room Tip = All rooms that I look at were perfect. Always ask for anything you want as the owners and staff want your stay to be pleasant and easy.
We (two female travellers) came for three days and stayed three weeks! This is a Great comfortable, budget, relaxing, family-owned hotel. Friendly service without being intrusive, good English speaking staff (who were happy to help me improve my Hindi :) and who were attentive and efficient. The lovely mother and her 16 year old son were present every evening to meet and greet new guests, with information about sights around the area, and to ensure that existing guests were well looked after. Whatever we wanted was possible and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are clean with en-suite (with bidet - what a treat), AC or fan, and hot water. Heavy bolt door with spy-hole, cupboard with bolt for personal items and 24 hour staff for extra security. Rooms cleaned and bedding changed anytime, at your request. Laundry service used regularly. Particularly impressive are the four chefs who cook the food to a consistently high standard. Whether north or south indian, spicy or non-spicy, or western tastes, the food is excellent. The chai (masala my favorite) and coffee, come in thermos flasks to keep hot, a nice surprise and treat in the night (ask for 'double-pots'), and there is the usual range of cold drinks (including beer on request) and lassis, plain, mixed fruit etc.. which are made perfectly delicious !!! The son explained that the chefs, who have been at this hotel for many years, are regularly professionally trained in various cuisines, to keep up to date with new ideas and changing tastes and to also maintain the hotel's status with the India Tourism Office, Govt of India. I highly recommend eating here, whether in the garden-feel roof-top restaurant, (regularly cleaned and maintained by staff), or at the indoor dining room. This really is an oasis in the life of this bustling city. Thank you to all at the Hotel Kalyan. I look forward to staying here again on my return to Jaipur :) The chefs are incredible, preparing the fresh vegetables and fruit bought daily by the owner. The owner's son explained that each chef is regularly professionally trained in a wide variety of cuisines, to keep up to date with new ideas and changing tastes and to also maintain the hotel's status with the India Tourism Office, Govt of India. You can tell this is the case, by the high quality of food served daily. There are four chefs, who have been at this hotel for many years and who cook the food to a consistently high standard. Whether north or south Indian, spicy or non-spicy, or western food, your preferences are catered for. I particularly loved the variations of speciality salads, dal, channa masala, masala papad, spring rolls, veg and cheese pakora, masala dosa (and occasionally finger chips or 'french fries', and pasta with spinach and olives - cooked perfectly). All the food we tried, probably 75% of the menu during our stay, was simply Yummy! The chai (masala my favourite) and coffee, come in thermos flasks to keep hot, a nice surprise and treat in the night (ask for 'double-pots'), and there is the usual range of cold drinks (including beer on request) and lassis, plain, mixed fruit etc.. which are made perfectly delicious and served with a smile and some welcome humour from all the friendly waiters. I highly recommend eating here. There is an indoor dining room or, my favourite, the garden-feel, roof-top restaurant (regularly cleaned and maintained by staff). The views across the city are amazing and, for those who dare, as I did, you can climb the steps, then the spiral staircase, to the next two levels, to take in the most incredible panoramic scenes of Jaipur and beyond - just beautiful. Or, sit back on the terrace and enjoy the most mesmorising sunsets each evening, while listening to the sounds of city life below. The Hotel Kalyan really is an oasis in the life of this bustling city. Thank you to all at the Kalyan Rooftop & Indoor Restaurants for a great culinary experience. I look forward to eating and staying here again on my return to Jaipur :)
On an overall the hotel was good. Room in which i stayed was huge. Way bigger than a normal 2 people room. Bathroom was neat and clean but the tub was broken, but that didnt matter since i have no fancies for bathtubs. Conveniently located near where the Delhi Rajasthan bus dropped us, took about 10 mins in an auto and a very decent locality too. They have a tie up with a tour guide who showed us about 7-8 places in jaipur (a full day trip), very nice guide too.
The hotel was excellent and good quality/price ratio. The rooftop was very nice and beautifully decorated with a good combination of lights. The food was very good. The hotel was near to railway station and also near to all main sights and bus stand. The views of the city from rooftop were really very good and were 360 Degree. It was a good choice to stay here. The rooms and bathrooms were all beautiful and clean. The free WiFi was very good and really was of high speed. It was the best hotel we got in India in our 1 month trip.A big thanks to team at kalyan for making our stay good.We would definitely recommend it.
It is a good hotel and facilities are very good in this hotel. Food quality is also best and the destination of this hotel is in front of bus stand in jaipur. No need to take any conveyance and easily you can find and price of this hotel is cheap and best.
