"Must visit Temle & Cave"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jan 25, 2017
Very recently we visited this temple on way to Kollur from Dharmastala. We had our own transport. Roads are good. From Dharmastala we reached Hebri. Had food at Hotel Badkillaya and via Shankaranarayana (we missed temple here as nobody told of it. Shankara (Eshwara) & Narayana (Vishnu) are in form of linga. Sacred place) towards Siddapura and finally Kamalashile. It was evening when we reached. On request we were guided to Supashwa Cave. Along with bats, large sized spiders we saw a snake (the guides recognised it as kalinga sarpa). Later had Darshan of Bramhi Durgaparameshwari. Then via Siddapura reached Kollur. A fee of? 25 is charged for visiting cave. Food served free at temple. Accommodation also available.

"Holy river Kubja flows through this temple"

  • 7.0/7
  • Posted Jan 7, 2017
Kamalashile is the must visit temple which is located 35 km from Kundapura and 125 km from Shimoga as well as Mangaluru.

The name Kamalashile take after the stone Linga. Goddess Sri Brahmi worshiped in the form of a Linga, which is said to be convergence of Goddesses Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati. The holy river Kubja flows through this temple.

The MahaPooja will happen at 12 afternoon everyday and followed by. There are sevas such as Chandika Yaga, BeLLi Ratha and RangaPooja will happen based on the pilgrim request.

The Suparshwa Cave is the one of the must visit place which is located 1km from the temple where one can see the birth place of Naga Theertha, which flows between rocks and joins the river Kubja near the temple.

Visit Suparsha cave, do take assistance from one of the temple staff and carry a torch without fail. All the days the temple will be crowded with devotees and friday is the most.

The bus service is available from 7am-7pm from Siddapura. The temple guest house will be available with the prior booking. The best day is to visit the temple is on Chaitra Bahula Moola Nakshatra(The temple festival) which will come in the month of April or day;Friday.

Do visit once for the blessing of Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari.

"Place for spiritual relief"

  • 5.0/7

The temple atmosphere here is too spiritual, calm and soothing. The river running next to it adds to its beauty. The food that they provide here has lot of variety in it. The cave which is about a kilometre from the temple is a must visit place. Be careful not to go alone as it is amidst dense forest and wild animals keep visiting. It is a marvellous experience going into the cave which is filled with water until knee level. Not to miss the food. Accommodation is available and is provided by temple authorities.
