Kanha food, sight-seeing and shopping options
The accommodation is quite comfortable, given that you are located in the midst of the jungle in the heartland of India. Seven of us were comfortably accomodated in two clean and pleasant A/C Deluxe Rooms. The pricing, at a lilttle over 3500 per night (Includes all meals, but excludes safari's) is also quite reasonable - the staff is also flexible when it comes to accomodating extra people in the room. The staff are also extremely helpful and courteous - they will entertain your requests for tea and coffee at odd hours with a smile. The manager is extremely knowledgeable about wildlife and the park.
The food is definitely one of the highpoints of the resort, apart from the service and the location. The menu of simple Indian food (dal, veggies, and a non-item item) is extremely tasty and reminds you of the cooking in old Government guest houses. The only area where we could fault the cook was the deserts. There is also a decently equipped bar (they even had some wine from Grover's ) and happy hours in the evenings.

Hotel Review of Kanha Safari Lodge
Comments: We visited Kanha and Pench at the best time of the year to do so. The summers are hot and the monsoon time is obviously damp. Winters can get freezing cold in the mornings but still bearable as compared to the heat at any other time of the year. We checked in on 19th November at the Safari lodge at Mukki gate. The Lodge is run by MP Tourism and has twelve comfortable cottages set strategically on the banks of a riverlet. Rooms are spacious and each cottage has a patio, to spend the evenings and a balcony built over the rooms to facilitate sightings. Deer and sambhar are common visitors to the river, and leopards are not uncommon either. The Lodge is just outside the forest core area, so if you are lucky, some animals could hop in as they do not respect any boundaries!
The food served is fresh, tasteful and hygienic. The Lodge has a restaurant enclosed in glass and a lawn outside to enjoy the dinner or lunch.
Best Experience: Overall, this is one of my most treasured vacations. The stay was comfortable and service was good. Campfires at night, piping hot food for dinner after a tiring, yet invigorating day, and stories narrated by the local staff, all add to the complete ‘jungle’ experience. We had booked one of the many MP Tourism’s packaged tour and they had taken care of everything. The costing is not very inexpensive, but well worth it.
Worst Experience: Virtually none.

Hotel Review of Kanha Safari Lodge
Nice Visit. Resort is just on the Bank of the River. Luckey Visitors have sitings of Leopard at night even in the Backyard of the Resort. Pithon Sitings also reported in a large number just outside the Resort. Frint Office is good. Services are good. Rooms are Basic. Food is nice.. Over all everything is nice if you can see the TIGER :))...
