Kanyakumari food, sight-seeing and shopping options
In Kanyakumari, of course, you have to visit the temple (which remains shut between 12 to 4).
The Vivekanand memorial is also a must-see along with the Triveni Sangam. The ferry will take you to the memorial.
There is a lighthouse too, but when we visited it, it was shut and the board outside stated that it is open from 3 to 5.
You can shop for your usual sea-side stuff- sea shells and all.
There is a beautiful Suchindram temple (Hanuman) some kms from Kanyakumari. Legend has it that Hanuman dropped some rocks from the Sanjeevani mountain when he was carrying it to Sri Lanka.

Hotel Review of Singaar International, Hotel
Comments: I wouldn't suggest this hotel to anybody. Except the view you get from the seafacing rooms, there is really nothing good about this hotel. As for the proximity to places of attraction in Kanyakumari, it is not much of a positive point, since Kanyakumari is a very small place and every place is near from everywhere !
Best Experience: 1. View from the room ( ? )
2. After much fighting and endless haggling, I could bring down the package price from Rs. 4200/ to Rs. 3000. Even that was too much according to me.
Worst Experience: Many.
1. Though they claim to be a three star hotel, they are not.
2. Very poorly maintained rooms. Probably, they were good once upon a time. Now, they all look like relics trying to relive the past glory.
3. Sheets were very dirty and smelly. Probably, they were white some time.
4. A/C was blowing a damp, foul smelling air. Being very old window Airconditioners cooling was less than optimum. And God, Was it noisy !
5. Flush in the water closet wasn't flushing. They changed the room. The shower tap was broken in the changed room ! Water seal in the closet had some problem i think, so the stench soon after flushing the toilet was unbearable.
6. Staff attitude, when I mentioned these problems was less than desirable.

Hotel Review of Singaar International, Hotel
I had selected this hotel after reading variuos reviews for my stay during the visit to kanyakumari this summer. Located a bit away from the main centre of town however not much to complain as it is walkable distance to the sea point and shoping centre. Surroundings are neat and sea facing rooms offer excellent view. Over all experience is good during my brief stay...

Hotel Review of Singaar International, Hotel
satisfactory. Good location, efficient checkin and checkout with a 24 hour checkout that we found really convenient. Restaurant was hygienic with a decent spread. service both in the restuarant and room service/housekeepinh was prompt. However the rooms were small, faucets in the bathroom were stiff, and the Air conditioning took quite a while for the room to become cool enough to stay in....
