About Karsog

Karsog, situated at a height of 350 m above sea level, is a sub-divisional headquarters of the district of Mandi. There is a beautiful bowl-shaped valley and several apple orchards surrounding the village of Karsog, considered to be the marriage venue of Bhim, one of the Pandava and Hidimba.

It is also a valley of ancient temples and has shrines like the Kamakshi Devi temple, Mamleshwar Mahadev temple and Mahunag temple. One of these temples has a pair of drums that were played by Bhim. This village is suitable for trekking and the best time to visit Karsog is from April through October.
