Kasauli food, sight-seeing and shopping options
We did not venture much out of our own hotel - Hotel Roscommon as that seemed to be the place that most non-residents seemed to come to for lunch and dinner.
You can go for walks along the upper mall road or the lower mall road. The views from these, the quaint little bungalows (estates as the locals call them), the trees, the flowers along the roadside all make up for a heady cocktail. So give up your cars and start walking. Be it early or morning, late afternoon or early evening, just take a stroll down the lower mall road, beyond sunset point - we just enjoyed the whole place... The church in the middle of the town with the sun dial is a must visit.
Shopping is fairly limited to local produce and some amazing fruit wines - just go ahead and taste them and you will end up buying cartons - apple cider, peach, pear, apricot.... the list is endless.

Comments: The food quality and taste is excellent, a quite destination to unwind, rest and laze
The rooms are decent and clean though not luxurious or pretty. Overall a good decent plac e to stay within budget.

The place is 6-7 kms before kasauli town on Sanhawar hills. Drive from Kalka to the property is around a hour. Drive to Kasauli is 20 mins by a cab. Kasauli was good. Chhole Kulchass on the way to Hanuman temple point are awesome. But not the hotel. I wish I had not booked at Winnies in advance, as there are so many options in Kasauli and they were easily available as it was off-season. The person who gave 7 rating miss guided me....

We stayed in a cottage which was quite a distance from the other dwellings which makes it a perfect get away from the hum drum and provides excellent privacy. We had a wonderfull weekend with our family. We had enjoyed a lot. Winnies holiday inn has a beautiful loaction for nature lover away from hustle bustle city just in the lap of nature.
