Kashid Beach food, sight-seeing and shopping options
There are no options for eating out except the hawkers on the beach. The market is worth a visit as the fresh fish is a dream come true for all fish lovers. We picked up 6 kgs of fresh prawns for a meager 600 rupees and had them for snacks right through our stay.
Murud-Janjira is situated near Kashid. Murud is an old fisherman town with a good beach. Janjira is a famous fort in the middle of the sea near Murud. The tourists can also visit the Nawab's palace, Ganapati Pule temple and the beautiful Birla temple nearby. About ten km from Kashid beach is the Phansad bird sanctuary.
You can bike or walk the distance from the place you have put up to the beach. The vendors provide hammocks for relaxation, which they allow you to use only if you purchase something from them (very justified).This is good fun in the evening when everyone walks down to the beach.
There is nothing worth buying unless you want to take back fish!

Comments: I had the best vacation at this resort, the staff was very welcoming and the food was excellent! The room was clean and very refreshing.. and it was just a few steps away from the beach! I will definately go back!!
Best Experience: The location is very central, and the resort has very warm and friendly vibes plus the staff goes out of their way to make your stay more memorable.

It was a wonderful experience being over there. Kashid has given a many, countless, sweet memories to be cherished throughout my life. And off course how can Kashid Beach resort be behind. Its only if you visit once, will u realise the beauty behind it. Its mesmersing. An unforgetful experience. No wonder our trips are never complete without a visit to Kashid. Decent place, but then there are very few alternatives in Kashid. Kashid Beach Resort is a misnomer because niether can you see the beach, nor is it close by, a good kilometer or more. Unless you fancy a long walk, having a vehicle is a must to get to the most amazing beach. Food is uninspiring. Rooms are passable and we found the rates a bit on the higher side. Would not recommend any one to go to this resort. It really is nothing but some very below average rooms. Can say exactly the same about the service. The only good part being is that it is in Murud-Janjira which has a nice untouched coast line....

The rooms are bad and with tons of insects, had booked my self for 2 nights left the very next morning itself. At night we had 2 lizards (big ones), few grass hoppers and quite a few other insects to buzz around and give us company. I think Kashid is a great weekend break location from Mumbai and I would not hesitate to say that Kashid Resort is positioned to be a great destination. They need to work on their food quality and general hygiene. Otherwise the place is brilliant....
