Mahabaleshwar Sightseeing - Kates Point

Kate's Point is located along the Duchess Road in Mahabaleshwar. Pegged at a height of 1,290 m, it is one of the highest points and lies around 7 km away from the city.  

Kate's Point, unlike all the others, affords a view of the Deccan side. While most hills here have less variety and grandeur, valleys like the Krishna Valley are extremely beautiful, with a winding river and patches of cultivation and deep waters originating from the Dhom Dam. Kamalgad, Panduagad and Mandhardev, three fine peaks, are also prominent objects in the landscape.

The view from Kate?s Point is extremely clear, exhilarating and mesmerizing. While tourists visit this place all round the year, the ideal time to visit would be during the winter months. It is during winter that the skies are bright blue and clear. Also, it is in this season that the Dhom dam gushes with full force and splendour, making an utterly enthralling scene for travellers.

A fun aspect of the Kate?s Point is the 'Echo Point', which is situated very close by. If you?re looking to unleash the child in you, just walk up till Echo Point and scream to your hearts content! It never stops being fun. Or therapeutic!
