I had visited this hotel for personal trip. The overall experience of the hotel was good. I didn't check activity in this hotel. Bus stand was nearby the hotel. I don't have any suggestion for this hotel.

Very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere

6.6/7
Posted 1 Dec, 2015

THE PROS: - Natural untouched beauty. In the mornings we were woken up by the cheerful and animated chirping of birds. The log cabins are surrounded by dense vegetation. - Spic and span cosy log cabins, spacious clean bathrooms. Not even a speck of dust anywhere in the room or the bathroom. - Hygienically prepared and served food. Can’t forget the fresh juice served every morning with breakfast, the awesome signature salad prepared by the cook Raju, most importantly the non-oily perfect tasting food. Since the dining hall is right next to the kitchen guests can see for themselves how clean the kitchen is kept!!! - Since the property has only 4 log huts it has a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. You may choose almost total privacy or the chance of interacting with the other guests in the evenings at the gazebo around the bonfire. - Warm hospitality of the entire staff under the personal guidance of Ajoy. Ajoy - the man behind Kerehaklu - runs the place with his heart and soul. He is a hands-on guy and has no manager to run the show. I really don’t think Kerehaklu is just a business for him, he actually takes immense pleasure and perhaps pride in looking after all his guests personally. THE CONS: Hmmmmm.....lemme think.....hmmmmm..... (scratching my head) that indeed is a tough one. Honestly, there are NO cons in case you are wanting a quiet time with your family. So for my husband and me it was just THE PERFECT getaway we were looking for!! Since this place has no TV/internet/ swimming pool/ table tennis/boating etc (activities that all commercial resorts offer) it may fail to enthral some of you. If you are looking for the activity based resort this is not the place for you. I guess YOU just need to be sure what YOU are going there for. THINGS TO DO THERE: It’s a perfect place to visit if all you want to do is NOTHING and just relax and connect with nature and your family!! By the way, before we reached Kerehaklu, we had planned to explore the neighbouring places. But once we entered the resort we were so mesmerized by its beauty that we decided to make the most of our stay there. For those who like hiking and walking, the place has meticulously marked walking trails with clear instructions about which trails are meant for the fit and which ones for the not so fit. The only reason we stepped out of the resort was to walk through these beautiful trials. My husband and I carried our cycle and had fun cycling near the property. For the naturalists and yoga enthusiasts, it’s a perfect place to meditate and do your pranayam, thanks to the pristine air. Overall, the trip to Kerehaklu was so relaxing for us that we do plan to visit again whenever we need to detoxify our body, mind and soul. Next visit we hope to make it a 3 night stay rather than the short 2 nights we spent. Oh! I forgot to mention, this heaven on earth is not too far either from Bangalore (just about a 5 hours drive). So happy Kerehakluing to all of you who decide to visit the place 

Best stay at good location with good food

6.1/7
Posted 2 Nov, 2015

If you are looking to get away from the city and need a break, there can't be a better place than this.. beautiful drive from Aldur, its located in midst of a vast coffee estate, peaceful and serene.. The wooden cottages are quaint.. If you are the type, then you can listen to the jungle sounds for hours sitting in the cottage porch.. There are many trails marked within the estate for simple walks to more steeper treks.. There is an open bonfire place where we spent nice evenings chatting with other guests.. The host/owner (Mr. Ajoy) is very gracious and very involved with the guests of the retreat, he is there if you need his help for treks.. the food is good too.. One of the best part of the stay was the tour around the estate in his jeep, we even spotted a male peacock which was icing on the cake.. And not to mention the night magic - thousands of fireflies just outside the retreat gate.. It was amazing. We had an unforgettable time !!

Provides an excellent calm and quite atmosphere

We set out as a family (husband wife and parents) to Chikmangalur and stayed in Karehaklu Eco Retreat, for 2 nights during Diwali time in 2011. Our first impression of retreat as we entered the property was one of awe as we saw the coffee plantations and exactly what we were looking for. The location is fantastic, surrounded on the back side by dense vegetation and actually makes you feel like staying in the midst of wildlife. This is situated little away from the main town and hence provides an excellent calm and quite atmosphere ! Once inside we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Ajoy the owner of the property who showed us to our rooms. The support staffs were also very helpful. Mr. Ajoy have put in place a very organized system for sightseeing and is ever eager to make arrangements and help the guests. We were offered excellent hot lunch after we checked in and later had a quick nap in the afternoon. Mr Ajoy personally took us for a ride in his jeep deep inside the coffee estate and the journey was excellent. He showed and explained us the different types of coffee plants and various other vegetation. Its a huge area and the ride took us almost good 2 hours. There were 5 swiss tent cottages in a slope and we were putting up at the first two . In the evening, it was pitch dark and had the support staff had arranged bon fire for us with hot tea and snacks. Dinner was again excellent - purely home cooked food. The next day again was beautiful with all of us enjoying the surroundings and retiring at the resort in the evening . The stay at this resort is itself so wonderful that you hardly would feel like going out and venturing into the surrounding areas !! We experienced heavy downpour on the 2nd night and it really gave us the jungle feeling. The place was very secured, well maintained . On teh 3rd day, we had good breakfast and then started our journey back to Bangalore. I have recommended this place to many and they have given me the similar feedback and I am happy that we did put up at this place. I always want to go there again and will stay there . I sincerely thank Mr. Ajoy, for all your support and arrangements. Look forward to meet you again very soon :) On the whole the stay and experience was fantastic and an unforgettable experience and would like to thank the hosts for the same. Location : Excellent Property : Excellent, very nicely crafted furnitures ( majority of coffee wood ) Food : Purely home cooked, wonderful food
