Ketti Valley View is located on the Ooty-Coonoor road, around 7 km away from the main city of Ooty. It is the second largest valley in the world, which comprises different villages that are part of Coimbatore and Mysore. It covers a wide area, extending from the plains of Coimbatore to the Mysore plateau.
The valley is home to several tribes, such as Todas and Badagas. These tribal people are experts in cultivating fresh vegetables and fruits in the valley. There are over 14 villages in this valley that belong to the tribes of Badagas. The tribes living these villages wake up before the sunrise and sleep after sunset, representing perfect rural lifestyle.
Residents of this valley mainly speak Tamil and Badaga, but most of them can understand Malayalam, English and Kannada as well. Apart from the strong influences of Christian Missionaries, many residents practise Hinduism. The only engineering college in the district, CSI College of Engineering is located in this Ketti Valley.
This valley is also known as the 'Switzerland of Southern India' and has a pleasant climate all around the year. In summers, the temperature is around 25° Celsius and in winters it drops down to 5° Celsius.
