Kismat Mahal, Calangute

this is an excellent budget hotel available in calangute area. locating the hotel would have been a problem, but thanks to google maps. it is actually a small property converted into a hotel, with other houses all around. the entrace to the property looks a bit odd, but inside the hotel the rooms are pretty clean and the linen and towels provided were also fresh. we stayed at the first floor AC room TV, clean bathrooms with hot water available any time, a coffee table and a pair of chairs etc. Also the balcony was later found to be very useful to dry all the wet clothes without any problem. Accessability to the beaches and other parts of goa is pretty good since the beach can be reached by a 10min walk and two wheelers can be taken in rent at ease as the hotel itself makes easy arrangement for them.

Worst Experience: AC room with a balcony but there is no view from the balcony and all you can see is the roof top of the neighbouring house The food is not served inside the room and that can be a problem at times. The food available is limited and we had to wait a very long time to get our breakfasts served in the hall that is reception-lounge-dining area

Our experience with the hotel was satisfactory ,the rooms were ok not very clean especially the bathrooms ,there was no proper hot water and the toilet use to stink badly.The reason being lack of staff and training given to them .The food part extremely bad and had no taste ,the room service very poor due to lack of staff .Whereas location was concerned it is an excellent property for a budget acccomodation.

Worst Experience: for room service you had to use your mobile to call the waiter who was either sleeping or took ages to come.There was no calling bell in the rooms.The most weird part is that they use to go off duty alltogether in the afternoon so if you want anything from roomservice even drinking water there was no one to serve you.The food was the worst of all kind with no taste and they use to serve cold food.
