Kochi (Cochin) food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Biggest tip is to not stir out of the resort. The trips to the shops are really time killing and definitely not worth it. We picked up hazaar stuff at the resort tho... mostly ayurvedic massage oils and such. Get as many massages as you can fit it. And if you are travelling with kids take some entertainment for them along.... they tend to tire of the scenery fast, and the rain can just come down any time.

Hotel Review of Riviera Suites
Comments: We stayed at Riviera Suites for a night each on 5th and 12th May 2007. We stayed in different 2 BR apartments. Both were similar in facilities except for additional TVs in the superior room. The food was decent in the buffet and room service too. The maintenance was good and it was like home away from home.
The commercial MG Road is about 6-7 km away and airport about an hours drive.
Overall, a very cosy and nice expereince for self and family.
Best Experience: The waterfront on the Thevara backwaters was the best we could view from our 7th and 9th floor balconies. There is a balcony each in the living room and one of the bedrooms.
Worst Experience: None.

A friend of mine recommended Rivera Suites for stay and having very little idea of Kochi, we booked ourself in before leaving Coimbatore. Location wise Rivera Suites is quite well placed in the Thevera Waterfront and overlooks a river/backwater and can actually walk up to the river from it. It is basically an apartment hotel and is located along-with a block of other appartments. Rooms are...
