Kochi (Cochin) food, sight-seeing and shopping options
Biggest tip is to not stir out of the resort. The trips to the shops are really time killing and defn not worth it. We picked up hazaar stuff at the resort tho... mostly ayurvedic massage oils and such.
Get as many massages as you can fit it.
And if you are travelling with kids take some entertainment for them along.... they tend to tire of the scenery fast, and the rain can just come down any time.

Hotel Review of Wyte Fort, The
Comments: Good things first! The first thing that strikes you is the fact that every person in the premises is trying to make you feel comfortable. A warm welcome at the entrance. Easy check in at the reception. A friendly escort to take you to your room for the first time. An understanding person at the other end of the room service telephone line. Fairly prompt and neat service in the room.
The room itself is neat and clean - well lit and smelling fresh. But the problem is with the toiletries. These days when one travels by air its a problem carrying your tube of toothpaste, your shaving cream and other liquids. Wytefort needs to understand this and keep some items more than shampoo, bubble bath soap and coconut oil!
The problem with Kochi/Ernakulam is that if you are staying in town and plan to travel out, the traffic becomes a big factor. With this in mind the location of Wytefort on the National Highway Bye-pass, yet within accessible distance to the heart of Ernakulam - MG Road (predictably) is great.
And now the downside - there is no bar! This may be just me but after a hard day's work (or play) in the humid environs of Kochi, who wouldn't like a cold beer? They have a variety of mocktails but I guarantee you they had twice the amount of calories than a bottle of beer.
There is a swimming pool - but it was raining so we were stuck indoors. So you go to the health club but find that the treadmill is a rather ancient piece with just basic controls and unfortunately fixed at a an incline. I didn't bother to check out the other equipment - 30 minutes of 10 degree running was good enough.
Best Experience: I must say the best part was the responsiveness of the team - you have a problem accessing a telephone number and the folks will help you find a way out. The wireless internet doesn't work first time and they are scampering about to see that it gets fixed. You want that extra half teaspoon of salt in your fresh lime and they send you a whole bowl! And still I complained on the way out - I had personally booked 4 rooms for my team and everyone got an upgrade to an higher class of room but me!
Worst Experience: None that I can think off that will put the next visitor off!
