Must see in Kotagiri

Must see in Kotagiri. Ideal time to visit will be in the morning or evening after 4 pm. The view is breath taking. Don't forget to take your camera and selfie stick. It's better to take some snacks and water with you as there is no restaurant near by.

Breathtaking vistas

Nice view point, slightly underrated. Good that it remains uncrowded most of the time. Due to this, you can easily spend a couple of hours in this vantage point. Tip : Visibility can be low due to fog all around even during daylight.

A nice vantage point

The Kodanad view point is about a half hour drive from Kotagiri town center. The drive to the view point was wonderful with the tea estates on one side and the valley on the other. They say "Jayalalitha" owns vast acreage of tea estates there. Whether true or not, the roads in the estate are beautifully laid out and the estates Bungalows are sorrounded by High rise compound walls and gates. The view point as such has two decks. One is the upper deck where one has to climb about 25-30 steps. The other is the lower deck which also has stairs. The view of the hills and mountains from the view point is nice. We were lucky that there was no mist and it was a clear day. There are no hotels or restaurants at the view point. There is a small tea shop. People in wheel chairs cannot visit either the upper or the lower deck as it is not friendly to the physically challenged people.
