Koppal

Koppal is a town and administrative headquarters of the Koppal District. This town is situated on the bank of the Hirehalla River, a tributary of the Tungabhadra River. The town is located on the Guntakal-Hubli railway line. Palkigundu, Gavimatha and Bahadur Bande peaks attract a lot of people.

Palkigundu is the highest peak located at a height of 2,399 ft above sea level. Gavimatha, around 50 ft above the main sea level, is the peak towards the eastern side. The third peak, Bahadur Bande lies to the south at an altitude of 1,980 ft above the main sea level.
