About Kovai Kutralam Falls (Water Fall)

voted as clean
Visit the awe inspiring Kovai Kutralam Falls located in Siruvani, about 37 km from Coimbatore. The scenic waterfalls are situated within dense forests and thus visitors are not permitted after 5 pm. Beautifully located amidst the calm peaceful jungles, it is a good place to watch birds and wildlife within the area. As few buses are available to visit the place, it is best to plan in advance to enjoy the panoramic waterfalls.

"It makes us feel Refreshed and Stressless"

  • 6.5/7

It is located in Western end of Coimbatore, as we used to live in Coimbatore we went there so many times but this time we went with our friends where we enjoyed a lot. There are the falls which are under control of Forest Department, private vehicles are not allowed and plastic usage is prohibited in this fall's. Our vehicles will be stopped at 5 kms away from the place where we should park our vehicles and start travelling in a forest department vehicle arranged by them. We will reach a spot in 5min and there we should walk for 15 - 20 min to reach the falls but after going there we will start enjoying as kids by looking that waterfall. It makes us feeling Refreshed, Stressless etc. No food is available inside the forest so its better to carry your own stuff if needed. There will be shops only at the entrance of the gate for this forest, never miss this beautiful place and experience if you are planning to visit Coimbatore.

"Perfect nature spot"

A good place to visit, quite far from the city but very calm place, isolated from the busy city it offers you peace of mind to enjoy the very old beauty of nature. Although one may not be allowed to bathe in the falls but its worth taking a long wall along the mountainous steps to enjoy the cold breeze off the falls.

"Love exploring nature - You have something here"

The drive to Kovai Kutralam Falls was like a journey through the forest and the road was quite good without much traffic. The road leads to the Water Falls, the Siruvani dam, Siruvani River etc. And the area is being protected by the forest department. Night drive is not advisable since the falls is in the forest area, we could see the falls from a distance and the sound of the falls became more and more audible when we approached the falls. The sight of water flowing through the rocks with an enjoyable clatter, the greenery, the fresh air and a special isolated feeling in the area makes our mind relaxed. You won't get food stuff and other items there and the area near the water falls seemed to be litter free. We had to start back from there by 5 PM due to the restriction of the forest authorities.

"Clean, calm and well-maintained falls"

  • 6.0/7

Water flow was less when I went in March. Water was really cold and the places to stand under the falls were not well-defined. Since I went on a Sunday morning there was decent amount of crowd, even foreigners too. No plastics allowed inside the forest area where the falls is. It is well-maintained. There were a lot of young couples at this place, all most all of Coimbatore's. Maybe because this place is conveniently located away from Coimbatore. You could get brilliant view of Velliangiri from here. Best to take a dip here before climbing the 7 hills of Velliangiri.
