Kulgi Nature Camp Reviews
The food quality was good. The activity was not conducted in the hotel. I had visited this hotel with my family. I would recommend this hotel to upcoming travellers. The food price was not included in package.
Dandeli is part of the western ghats with some pristine forests to experience and post monsoon, it turns magically green. Kulgi is located idyllically close to the jungle and provides an unique experience with all basic facilities taken care of at amazingly affordable prices. What more can a naturalist or wildlife enthusiast ask for! Run by the....Read More

Nature Camp is very good. It is located in forest and you feel exact like your staying in forest. We can get lot of other activities like water rafting, adventure camps, forest trekking, good guides and many more. The cost is also reasonable when you go in a group. It is run by the Govt. body. Location wise it is very good. Overall it is a nice pla....Read More
This a fantastic place if you want to get away from urban life and stay close to nature. The location is simply amazing. The only setback here is with the food and facilities. But places like this we have to compromise something. There is bird watching trial in the camp which is good. Please don’t rely on public transport to reach this place, arran....Read More

Top Reviews of Kulgi Nature Camp
7 people planned to spend the weekend to dandeli forest and jog falls. We three people started from chennai and reached bangalore on 23th early morning 3:30 am. Other 4 members from bangalore were ready to pickup us from the K.R.Puram railway station. And we started in the Innova to dandeli at 4:00 am. We reached around 3:30 PM to dandeli town and reached the Kulgi Nature Camp around 4 PM. We have refreshed ourselves and started trekking to near by places. It was a very nice place to stay and that too the tent type was so much attractive to see and even the cost was so cheap. Just 500 for a deluxe tent with attached bathroom and toilet. The climate was awesome and it was rainy too.. We reached there on 23rd July 2010 evening and took rest and started on 24th July with a local guide. The places we were visited on that day were Backwater, Syntheri Rocks and the Bisor River Boating. Syntheri rocks was simply superb and the waterflow was amazing. Bisor river boating is similar to water wrafting, but not that much speed. We enjoyed by enjoying old boat songs during the ride (lol..) Then evening we went to crocodile park which is near to dandeli town and reached kulgi for night stay. Next day(25th July 2010) morning, we started at sharp 6 am to Jog Falls. We reached Jog falls around 10 AM and have seen the falls in different views and started from there at 1PM to bangalore. We finally reached bangalore at 11PM to the railway station and caught the chennai train and reached here on 26th Morning..

wow!!! Had one of the best of experience i had ever had. Everything was great in this hotel. Great ambiance, hospitality, polite, well mannered, clean rooms, superb service, delicious food and great fun with the activities. What else can you expect when you reach a hotel. You don\'t have to long for anything.
We had made the booking over phone & got confirmation that a hut would be reserved for us. We arrived at the Camp to find that we actually had to go to the office in Dandeli to make the payment, but the staff was helpful, gave us a hut & collected payment the from us on the spot. On day one, we (my husband & myself) were the only people at the camp, it being a weekday. The next day a bus load of visitors arrived The accommodation was basic, clean, utilitarian without any frills. No hot water in the taps, hand towels, bed tea/coffee, soaps/shampoos etc. Hot water for your needs can be got from the Solar Water heater. Only one pillow & blanket per person. Since I had already ascertained this on phone, I had taken some warm clothes & was thankful for it! The tempretature drops in the night! The food was home cooked, wholesome, tasty, served in a clean, homely style (with resident cat for company)- one has to inform in advance that you will need lunch/dinner/breakfast. The service is decent, but you have to ask for whatever you need unlike in 5 star accommodations, where many of your needs are anticipated. The surroundings are peaceful, you feel one with nature. You wake up to the sounds of falling dew, chirping birds, not honking vechicles. If one has come to Dandeli for the bird watching/wild life/safari, this is the place to stay. But if river rafting is the main reason for your visit, Jungle Lodges or Bison River Resort may be a better option as these are closer to the place from where the rafting begins. Kulagi Nature Camp is a good 40-45 minutes drive to Ganesh Gudi (where you need to go for rafting) Since we had come mainly for the rafting, we had to drive down to Ganesh Gudi a good hour & half in advance. The rafting was a wonderful experience, highly recommeneded. We also got a splendid bird's eye view of the Kali River from Sykes Point which is a view point in the KPCL property at Ambikanagar ( courtesy some contact working in KPCL, general visitors not allowed).
