La Maison Tamoule Hotel Reviews (4)
I stayed in La Maison Tamoule Hotel. The location of the hotel was excellent. The internal and external appearance of the hotel was very good. The check in and checkout was done on time. The service of the staffs in the hotel was friendly and helpful. The room allotted to me was very neat with all required amenities in working condition. The food provided in the hotel was very good in quality and taste. There were no activities in the hotel.
We were a group of 5 adults and 2 children occupying 2 rooms on first floor. The visit was to just relax and spent a Christmas holiday season with our 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Good Location and the hotel is an old period Tamil merchant’s home converted to hotel. Excellent accommodation The twin bed was on a mezzanine floor. The bed was kept directly on the wooden floor, surrounded by all facilities. The TV was a big 32" mounted on the wall and at an enjoyable angle and distance from the mezzanine floor. Toilet on the floor below was very well maintained with all modern fixtures. We stayed from 23rd Dec through 26th December 2015. The Christmas eve dinner was a grand affair with turkey and a blend of western and Indian dishes. Staff was very courteous and accommodative. The hotel is 10 minutes’ walk from the Beach front. The main tourist attractions are all within 15 minute walking distances. The attached restaurant specializes in CREOLE food. I found the French food NOT so good. (I was cautioned by another Britisher staying in the hotel that generally FRENCH food is not very good and better to stick to NON-FRENCH food!! I was taken aback by the comment, because France is supposed to be the Mother of all .good food and wine. Recommend that travelers to stick to Indian food generally in Pondicherry. In case you are staying for more than 1 night, ask for the twin bedded rooms on first floor with a separate dressing room. All furniture is period furniture and enjoy the authentic bamboo meshed Chairs and Grandfathers Chairs, perhaps 70+ years old!!
The auberge is lovely, with admirable chettinad architectonics - a absolute tamil house. The ancestry auberge is actual acceptable and in centermost position. The foods are good. Agents are actual able-bodied airish and helpful. They aswell provided us tea and algid alcohol chargeless of amount at the time of analysis out. Apartment are aswell acceptable with french style, The agents are affable and the aliment is alright. The apartment are conceivably a little too attenuated but that's alright, back the admirable oxide floors yield your animation away.
