We were a group of 6 friends & one 2 year old who travelled in September 2014 from Bangalore. We rented a self drive car from Bangalore and drove to Yercaud. We reached the hotel at about 2 pm and checked in. The front desk offered us a Forest facing room whose verandah basically opens up into the forest. The room itself was average probably because they wanted to maintain that old world charm. The flush in the bathroom wasn't working. The bed, linen and everything else was clean and standard. Carry a mosquito repellent. Coming to the hotel itself the experience was far better. Its a beautiful property with so much greenery growing everywhere that staying in the hotel is better than going outside. There were green pepper trees right outside the verandah. The hotel is built on a slope so you had to climb to reach the top from where we were staying - much like a fort. Older people may have trouble doing that. There is an in-house restaurant but we preferred eating at the nearby Sarvana Bhavan since we are all vegetarian. Its a great place for kids with a lot of activities planned out and there was a trampoline outside the restaurant where my daughter had a great time! If you are a budget conscious traveller then this place is kind of steep. Overall the rooms and service were average. But the property itself is super. Carry a TT racket & ball if you are going because there is a TT table in the garden.

I visited Yercaud and stayed at this hotel last summer and stayed for three days. The stay at this hotel was fine and it location was good enough. I travelled through my own car and they also provided was also good. The surroundings of the hotel were also very good. The ambiance of the hotel was very good and I did not face any problem during check-in and check-out. I walked in directly to the hotel and booked the room. The overall, service and hospitality was also good. The staff were helpful and good. The room allotted was average because it was old property but it was well-maintained with all basic amenities in working condition. The food provided in this hotel was tasty and delicious, and also had different varieties to choose from. I liked Yercaud and can visit this place for one day. There we no activities available at this hotel. I visited this hotel last year March-April with my family for relaxation trip.

It was a very nice experience there. The whole area was so huge. Amidst tea estate and greenery. There were electrical vehicles for pick-up and drop. The cottage had such a massive hall as soon as we entered. There were lot of games to while away the time. The restaurant was a bit costly. So we managed food out. There were auto. There was a small shop inside.

We went to this hotel almost two months back. The hotel is located exactly next to Yercaud Lake. Beautiful ambiance and really good staff. We had a good time there and highly recommend this hotel to all. The boating is nearby and you get all street foods easily. Specially the chai walas are really good.

It was a long weekend (May 1-3) and we definitely wanted to escape from the heat and humidity of Chennai. So we found this lovely resort named the Lake Forest (which is an English version of Yer-caud: Yeri - Lake, Kaadu - Forest). We had found good reviews online, so we booked it even though it was slightly costly due to the long weekend rush.

Instead of going by public transport, we drove down. We took the scenic route of Chennai - Ulundurpet - Attur - Salem instead of the Krishnagiri route. There are loads of stopovers on the way and we had stocked our car with drinks and snacks and soulful music to go with. We reached Salem in a decent 6 hours and asked for instructions to Yercaud.

In the pictures, we saw a lot of greenery, but were still pretty thrilled when we reached the resort. It was lovely and cosy and reminded you of the British era - The hotel was renovated with an idea to recreate an atmosphere of colonization. What we loved was the fact that they have taken utmost care in creating a semblance of balance between nature and us. So the rooms are in the middle of a wonderful surrounding of trees, just outside your window, you'll find a great blossom of flowers etc.

We had booked a Bungalow there. The rooms were not luxurious, but decent for the money we shelled out. Initially, we were not happy with the room shown to us because the mattress was very thin (4 inches), but we let the room service know our displeasure and they showed us a couple of alternates and we picked the better of the lot. We felt the service could have been much better as we had to call the housekeeping and ask them for floor mats and towels, but the response and handling of requests was timely.

They had a huge open area as an eat out/ dance area and we had our dinner there. Special mention to vegetable cutlet and vegetable (we're vegetarians :)). The veg moussaka was delectable and the best I've ever had until now. Our package was inclusive of breakfast and contained the regular fare of South+North Indian + English mix.

The weather was hot in the noon's but towards evening turning wonderfully chilly. Which was a joy in the peak of summer. We hired an auto and checked out all the local delights. It was fairly simple as there is a huge map and a list of places right on the main road from the resort.

If you were to go there, my suggestions would be - go with your family (even big families would enjoy, as they have trampolines for kids to go crazy with. ). ASK for what you need as the management tries to help out as much as possible. Definitely dine out in the open area and try out the delicacies suggested above.

Convenient location, very safe, hospitality is very nice, keeping you updated with the activities on a daily basis by the resort executive, nice food what else you want for a perfect holiday with good climate.

Garden & open theatre to relax, play interior games watch big screen TV.

Location is very easy. Get down from bus in front of the resort so you also save money and time.

Suggestion: SMS only to members daily activities instead of searching.

It was a pleasant stay at Lake Forest Hotel. The old British colonial charm, good restaurant with a decent range of varieties, courteous staff and proximity to lake make it a good choice. The price is expensive for sure and for Yercaud standards. The fittings in rooms are of cheap quality however. A make over is required.

I stayed in this hotel when I went to Yercaud a few years back. The resort itself is beautifully built but small. The rooms are spacious and surrounded by a lot of greenery. The food is good as well. It gives you the "living in the lap of nature" feel. :)

Location of the hotel is good but rooms are below standard. Nil activities, average food. Nice place to visit during summer but don't expect too much from the resort or surrounding places. Overall not so good stay would think twice to visit next time.

It was an awesome stay. The hotel had fabulous ambience. The food was really good and I enjoyed my dinner in outdoor, by the mist surrounding us. We had the option of playing our favourite movie in the projector. The rooms were at its best well maintained. The service was also very good. The only thing that made me feel bad was there wasn't a bar attached to the resort. But other satisfactions made me forget that.
