Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Institute of Indology in Ahmedabad is known for the massive number of manuscripts it has stored and documented over the years. The museum houses rare collection of miniature paintings, painted patas, manuscripts, sculptures and wood works. The Institute’s library contains more than 45,000 printed books, and around 75,000 manuscripts along with 500 illustrated ones covering subjects ranging from Indian & Jain philosophy, Buddhist religion, tantra, grammar, agamas, and poetics to Vedas.
