Comments: Overall it was a very good exp. The hotel is outside the city, hence make sure you have your own transport. Remember there are two types of rooms available - Heritage rooms in the main Palace and regular rooms in the annexe. Its worth paying extra for the room in the main palace. Also, go there for the experience! dont crib about the bathroom faucets etc.,. they are REALLY OLD, but still work. Best part is MOST of it is original ( from UK ).
Best Experience: Staying at the Lalit Mahal Palace was a long standing dream come true. The rooms are very cosy ( try and get Room No. 23 in the main palace ) . Its a very romantic place. Ask for corporate discount and you may get 15-20% off on rack rates.
Worst Experience: Fortynately none; except the food prices are rather high; be ready to shell out a lot if you have food at the restaurant.

Vast open lands surrounds the structure. Our car zigzaged its way through the busy outskirts of Mysore, and suddenly the distant white palace structure came to our view. The Hotel is the very best as far as structure is considered. Rooms are all elegant and spacious. Restaurant is good but no choice of food. Swimming pool is just ok. Service has to be improved. If it is privately managed, then it will excel....
